"An Evening with Kevin Smith" DVD

    Hey,
I recently picked up "An Evening with Kevin Smith" on DVD ... its probalby one of the BEST dvd's i've seen ... its not a movie, and its not some action packed video ... its 4hrs of lecture footage from various colleges. Here's the deal, a while ago Kevin Smith did a series of "q&a's" at various colleges around the US. At each college people would basically ask them whatever they wanted to know, and he'd answer questions for them, and knowing his sense of humor this makes for a GREAT video. Its roughly 4hrs long, but I sat through the whole thing (and i dont sit that long). He talks about everything in detail from how he first hooked up with his Wife (great story) to how his whole career started and even about how he wrote a script for the new "SUPERMAN" movie and the messed up producer involved..... he leaves NOTHING out.

If your not familiar with Kevin Smith he wrote and directed Clerks, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Mallrats as well as he's written some movie scripts for other companies, and a noted comic book writer... plus he has a new movie coming out called "Jersey Girl". He's like the Spielberg of the indie movie scene. If you want more info on him or his projects check out www.viewaskew.com

If you have a chance go to the movie store and rent it, you'll LOVE it ... then buy it ..lol...

    Sincerely,
    Dave K

Movies w/ Jay and Silent Bob:
      - Clerks
      - Mallrats (the blueprints rock)
      - Chasing Amy
      - Dogma
      - Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
      - Lucy You Love it (documentary style)
      - Clerks (tv show)
      -

      - Cameo in one of the scream movies (I think 3) where Courtney Cox is walking out of the movie set and they're against the wall and go "CHECK IT OUT, ITS CONNIE CHUNG"

      Sincerely
      Dave K

Yeah it's scream 3 that he does a cameo in. That new one sounds pretty good. I'll have to pick it up sometime. Is it available to rent or only to buy?

I picked that DVD up on Tuesday, just finished watching it yesterday. I'm a big Smith fan and have actually met him. It was one of the coolest things I have watched in a long time. I will say, make sure you have seen all the movies first before watching it, as you might be a little lost at some of the parts.

Dude, that sounds awesome. I first hurd about him in 8th gradewhen a friend showeed me Mallrats. After thet I went out and rented the rest of his movies and watched them all weekend. Quite hilarious. I got the Clerks Uncensored for Christmas, it's the 6 cartoon shows that were supposed to air on ABC, but only one of them made it. Thanks for posting this, I look forward to renting/buying it.

I've met him as well ... I was one of the people in the final test screening of J&SBSB a few months before it was released ..... We got to see the final "test" version before the final cuts and afterwards I got to meet him (turns out he was sitting behind me).

                    Sincerely,
