I heard he was going to die in Episode 3, supposedly he's on the first planet that is blasted to bits by the Death Star. That's what I've heard but I have no proof of it being true.

Where do people come up with this stuff? Yes, they did show the plans for it, or whatever in Attack of the Clones, but if they actually built a Death Star in Episode 3 it would totally screw up continuity with the original episodes.
