    The "trust" question thread ...

    Curious,
I have noticed that a LOT of us put a lot of trust into each other because AO is like a family ...

So my question is do you trust the people here on their word and why?

I personally do ... If I've seen someone posting a bit and talk with them and they seem to be good hearted then they have my trust fully on any situation until they choose to break that trust .... In the past 3 months I've watched AO become a large group of good friends who'd help me out if I needed it (such as a place to crash, a ride, etc if I was in town) and helped me grow in the sport ..... good community, good people!

    Sincerely,
    Dave K

I trust a lot of people on AO, most that have been on AO about as long as I have I trust very much; everyone else I have to get to know first on AIM before I trust them

Yeah, I think for the most part anybody whose been here for awhile you can definitely look upon as good friends. I think the fact this site is moderated as well as it is that the truly deviant, evil folk get bored waiting around for something to happen so they go elsewhere.

Paintballers as a whole that I've met (of course there are exceptions) are pretty cool people if you need something. I was at this tourney a couple months ago and I was like two minutes from being up next and my tank blew a fill nipple o-ring. Instead of me having to take the tank off and find another, this guy comes over with an already set-up Autococker and says "Here." I used it for the last two games of the day back to back, and then cleaned it and kindly gave it back. I just thought that was really cool, since he didn't have to do anything to improve my situation.

I think the folks here would do the same at any time, and that's a pretty nice thing to have.

The only reason I like the post counters is that they give me a tiny extra reason to trust each person.

AOers watch out for their own! If your house is being broken into, you're going to war, or you need to borrown an SFL for a few months, you will find everybody offering what they can to help!

Also, everybody on this forun (with a couple exceptions) is smart. Not many people say that their gun shoots straighter, longer, etc than your gun because they are smarter than that. Nobody gets bad tech advice, either!

What can I say, I guess all kind, smart guys and girls shoot mags

I've blindly trusted a few people on here. Could have easily been burned, but never had any problems.

I trust anyone unless a they, or someone else gives me a reason not to. If it is someone else that gives me reason not to trust, then I atlease find out the truth.. But yea, among the many online owners groups, I think AO is probably the closest knit group(yet also one of the biggest imo). It's not hard to consider a fellow poster a friend on here.

it doesnt take much for me to trust someone but my trust is easily broken(on the net) and after that its hard to get it back.

It depends on how a person represents themselves here on AO, but I guess I am very trusting. There's a lot of good ppl on here

for the most part, if youve been posting here 4-5 months or more and ive noticed your name, id give you a fair amoutn of trust. if ive talked with you in chat, etc i would give you prolly, too much trust. I believe people are in general good people...and nowhere is this more true than AO. If i needed a gun for a weekend, i would hope someone i "know" would loan it to me...as i know i would do the same if i could give it up. If someone needed a room in my area, my doors are open....

I hope you dont just trust people by their post count! I dont post very much at all and i've been here a very long time, dont post much but if you look i'm here for most of the day (except when schools in). i havent dealt with many AO members but the ones i have, have been totally trustworthy.

Tranman , we can see that you have been here for a while too though. I think when people say by post count. They recognize that the person has been here for a while. And is not one of those people who come , sell there gun then leave. And kev you can allways borrow me talon
