Counter-Strike 1.6 BETA is comming!

1.6 is finally comming out! It will be released this Thursday. They are adding in soooo much stuff. They added a new rifle to both CTs and Ts. I think this will become the most used rifle now since they are cheaper than the traditional M16/AK47 and fairly accurate. They also added a riot sheild for the CTs. It will replace your primary weapon though. A new map is included as well. Some other stuff were added to like some fixed bugs, IMs, and other crap, check it out here

atleast it wont be like the last version where it had hacks weeks before it was even released the shield would be cool for me if it doesnt restrict movement that much and does a decent job blocking i could own with it lol

I don't know about you, but VAC is drastically reducing the number of cheaters. RARELY do I ever see a ban for cheating after 1.5

I dont think the shield is a good idea. its just going to become a nuisance when everybody starts using them.

Well YES the number of hackers has dropped but it is annoying to see newbs just typing in "OH YOU'RE HACKING (cause his/her score is good" then there is a big argument and it gets really annoying.

theres wallhacks that cant be detected by vac, and other hacks besides popular ones that also arent detectable.

the shield will hardly be a problem, as it takes up the primary slot. the damage is as if you are standing behind a wooden crate. people will still get headshotted through the shield. either that or people will pop off a quick headshot when the person peeks around to shoot. i think it will be used in a) custom shield/pistol maps, b) goofing around in pubs, C) maybe the save round in a match.

there are drastically less cheaters than there has been, but it is still a big problem.

there is also an update to de_prodigy, which offers a new path from ct spawn. it should make the map more bareable.

I didn't say that VAC eliminated cheating entirely. I said it GREATLY reduced the amount of cheating, as compared to all the beta CS's, along with 1.0 to 1.3.

use your "dead-time" to watch players and learn from them instead of going on a witch hunt. Unless you're an admin on a server, or there is an admin available, it's not like you can do anything about it either, besides going to a differant server.

About the shield, it will only block pistol and sub-machine gun rounds. I'm assuming that desert eagle rounds will also penetrate it. most likely it will only be effective the first few rounds of a game when pistols and sub-machine guns is what is available due to money constraints.

taking up the primary weapon slot is also a big factor. yeah, you can block shots, but you have to open yourself to attack in order to fire your weapon.

That, and the fact that you have to be FACING your assailant. sneaking up and blasting/knifing a tunnel-visioned shield user will probably not be uncommon.

I'm looking forward to the new weapons. Sounds like it'll be fun :)

the new CT and T weapons look good. i want to see the tri-burst on that new ct weapon. i bet that will be a headshot machine.

hopefully the tri burst is accurate because all the guns are friggen spray and pray except awp and scout which is lagged too much to work effectivly its aweful for me i try and aim good which im very good and then my bullets go all around them no matter what so i start trying to spray and it shoots straight!!!!
