I love the LS1 engine, but i don't really like firebirds/comaros. They are just way too flashy to me, expecially the frond ends of some firebirds. Now a C5 really handles a LS1 well as it was designed for it. Alot more subtle styling also.

Stock C5 times and Stock Ls1 times are maybe .3 tenths off each other in the C5's favor...Thats not really handiling them well at all...Just barely maybe. Closer than u might think...

Havn't made it to the Dyno yet but with the recent additions I should be making around 400 to the wheels,
                      Blower is the next addition.

But the LS1 with the Procharger would own me, anyone know why he's only running 9lbs? I've seen em' run 12 most commonly.

The C5's LS1 is different from the regular one(like if u order a LS1 engine from GM u get the f body version)

and the '03 C5's have the optional magnetic dampening system, thats mega sweet

Whats different between a C5 LS1 engine and a crate LS1 you would get from GM?

The 03' magnetic ride it pretty cool, havent really noticed a difference from the old system though. I don't really think it is necisary because between the different setting there is only a slight difference, you have to be really paying attention to notice.

The magnetic ride is from the C6 which was suspose to be released in 03, but i think it is 04 or 05. Can't wait to see that car.

Different heads/rockers/lifters/cams/etc. Almost a different top end to the motor (same intake manifold thought). And slightly different headers, but the main difference is ECU programming. The Z06 gets even better heads (LS6) and beefed up top end and even more ECU tweaking. Otherwise they are the same block. The trannys and drivetrains on the C5's are all the same and are good for over 900 HP at the crank!!!! In the 427TT conversions that Lingenfelter does, they use stock tranny/drive train/rear/etc. and thier cars can push as much as 1000HP. Through testing they discovered just HOW good Chevy has made those components and said that unless the customer were raceing every weekend at the track, there was no need to upgrade.

The Magnetic Ride Control is a very cool development, and is quite useful in a sports car. The fluid in the monotube shocks has metal flakes, and by sending an electric current into the top of the shock into a plate, you can change the density of the fluid, makeing the ride softer (no current) or harder (current). It also helps in brakeing (virtually eliminateing nose dive) and cornering (makeing the inside shocks stiffer also virtually eliminateing body roll). You arent supposed to notice a difference, only when the car is doing some demanding work. Through sensors that monitor yaw and pitch rates, one of 4 computers that control the system can adjust the recoil rate of any one of the 4 shocks. Pretty awsome.
