What would happen to me if I joined the Reserves?

Ok I was previously planning on joining the reserves when I turned 17, but with all this war stuff going on, I just have a few questions.

I was going to do a rotc program, except for the reserves, so I had a job, and I could finish high school, then go to college and everything.

Now I'm a junior, and I am able to join this summer and go to basic training and everything. I want to finish my last year of high school, I wouldn't get shipped off to war or anything, right?

      im 99.9% sure of this:
you CAN NOT go to war until you are 18

spongebob, if he joins the reserves they don't have to draft him. he's already in. they just have to switch him to active duty. they won't send you until you're 18 though, and most likely not until after you finish highschool.

A whole lot of 17 yr old's served in Viet Nam,
the average age for a soldier in that war was 19.
However I don't think that at this time, they
will send anyone under 18 or someone who is still
            in school.

BTW I was 17 when I enlisted, the most fun I had
in the service was Basic Training, it was both
Physically and Mentally challenging. I LOVED IT.
