Yeah, I don't think shooting your shed is good and I also think this thread is pointless, who cares?

I shoot up my backyard all the time. You know what I do then?

I clean it up. It's called a hose, RP.

I've shot my shed before. I've shot the tree in my backyard, I've shot my fence. Hell, a stray shot even caught my dads grill once.

And when I'm done, I grab the hose and wash it off. Who the hell cares what he shoots in his OWN BACK YARD? He isn't damaging anything, and besides, even if he did, its HIS STUFF.

                Get over it.

                  WHIRRED...What he said.

I have a small alley/area between my neighbors garage and mine, and I test out my markers in there. I have informed all my neighbors that I have paintball markers, they all understand that I only use it for what it's intended for. Thay actually come to me and want to try them out. If any of my neighbors have problems with me shooting a couple of balls, they would come and tell me, but up to now they have no reason to. I don't go shooting up the neighborhood, the trees, cats, squrrels, or whatever. If anything I try to educate everyone in my area about our fine sport. 2 yrs ago some kids came and shot up everyones cars, including mine, and they came and told me that they new it couldn't have been me due to my openess about my sport. I even helped all of them clean up the mess the kids made, which is what all respectable paintballers should do. If you see a spot and can clean it up, you should. In the long run it only helps the sport.

If shooting up your backyard is your thing and you can do it without offending people close to you, then bay all means, do it. If even one person doesn't feel comfortable with it, you should refrain from doing it untill you can get to the field.

Sorry about the rant, but I am a homeowner and have been fo sometime now, and I don't care for people telling me what I can and, cannot do in my backyard. I don't have a problem with someone voicing thier opinions, heck I'll even accomodate them, but some things just get carried away.

good point thordic. I apologise to all that were offended by my assumptions and comments. I realize that not everyone has or lives by the same set of standards.

oh, and BTW, (personal opinion following) - if my kids did that to our back yard, even if they said they were going to clean it up or have cleaned it up, they would get their equipment taken away and get grounded.

TO ME, it shows a lack of respect for personal property and the respect that I think is necessary for people that support and play paintball.

TO ME, paintball is about playing a game in a sanctioned field, whether shooting at targets or against real people. I personaly prefer the insured fields and do not play renegade, but I understand for those that do play that way.

TO ME, shooting up ones own yard or property is the exact "image" that the general populous does not need to see from paintball players. (I believe that all paintball players should be ambassadors for our sport and we all should help represent our sport in as good a light as possible)

Again, I appologise if I have offended anyone with my comments, but I do have opinions and untill a mod cuts me off or I am banned etc, I will continue to express them, as you all are free to express your opinions.

So, though I disagree, go ahead and shoot up your own property. It's not like I could stop you anyway. I was just expressing my own personal feelings on the matter.

Thanks, Brent "RamboPreacher" Hoefling, CPPA founder

Which is better shooting in your Own enclosed backyard. Or running around in your Own vacant lot(consiting of woods most likely?) shooting a paintball gun?

It's a matter of priorities and maturity. obviously you and your father have neither. (asuming you are truthful). THis is exactly the kind of thing that spawns kids going to shoot other neigbors houses, sheds, fences and stuff. I guess it's just a personal preference.
Forgive me for butting in, but where do you get off telling him what SHOULD be acceptable in HIS house? I just don't get it. I assume you believe a child practicing driving in his driveway is the reason they go out and run people over, right?

                              Give him a break.

His opinion, he has the right to it. He feels that spraying paint on trees and sheds on a small fenced in property is wrong and shows a lack of maturity for the sport.

I am not agreeing or disagreeing with his opinion, but rather, I feel has the right to express it without everyone jumping on him. Honestly, I have mixed feelings on the subject.

And personally, I think there is a diffrence between a small enclosed piece of personal property- lighting up trees and sheds vs. a large, multiacre area with targets.

I used to shoot up my backyard all the time.

We used to live on 3 acres, and about 20 trees or so were in the actual grassy area, I shot these up. The other 182,691,238.91 trees were on 2 acres of inaccessible terrain.

My dad didn't mind me shooting up the trees. It didn't wash off quickly, took a few weaks of weathering to do so.

But he liked it actually. He enjoyed the fact that I was OUTDOORS, I was an indoor kid, very much like indoor cats. lol

I guess I'm against the shooting up of one's yard, in general.

BUT I lived on 3 acres (not huge, but big enough) and couldn't even talk to my neighbors easily without screaming at the top of my lungs or calling them on the phone.

House was pretty secluded. The road was about 15 feet lower than the house and more than 50 yards away. Back yard was hidden by the house and trees. Neighbors were too far to worry.

I was worried more about my neighbors kids. Those rascals were in our backyard. I shoot downrange and warned my neighbors about what I did. Those kids were always in our backyard starting FIRES! Fires were built on a turf with dense dry brush surrounded by lots and lots of trees.

So I'm partially with RPK. My dad trusted me not to be dumb. lol
