56k ppl please respond

I need some help guys. My cable provider is letting the connection dip into the 300 ms on pings times. I'm paying 60$ a month for this crap and am going back to 56k. But before I do I know what I'm getting myself into.

I need a few of the 56k'ers to ping yahoo and let me know what the responce times are.
ping yahoo.com -n 15 is the command and the results should look like the picture. all I need is the actually 'ms' times so you don't need to make a pretty little picture like I got here.

Actually where not that far off and i have a cable modem that works great. Im not the greatest at reading these but there pretty similar

Here's mine. It isn't very true though, because I am downloading Windows updates at about 4 KB/sec. I'll post the real pings tomarrow.

these are logs from the past week. on average I see these times about 50% or the day These aren't normal. I was told by media come they won't do anything about it till it hits 300ms and above .. screw that. When I play couterstrike my ping spikes to over 500 sometimes to a server only 200 miles away in omaha. I'm in Des Moines.

60$ is too much for this crap.

I am geting an average on 35ms on a T3 fed lan at work. Although the network is saturated, I'll try at home with cable and let ya know.

a.) Thordic... I hate you
b.) it's real easy to do. From the command promt (i.e. the dos promt ) type in "ping" followed by the destination address. I choise Yahoo.com because it is a stable site.
the switch "-n 15" is just to repeat that 15 times.
tracert can also be an effective tool to find altency related problems.

c.)I appresiate the help, but I really ONLY need 56kers. I've had cable for 2 years now and have enjoyed 40-80ms ping times. I would be ok with 200ms latency IF I wasn't paying well over 3 times more then 56k users.

Just because you own a monopoly doesn't mean I'm going to buy your crap. I have a local dial-up service that promises 15$ a month for dial up. I will pry do that end of the month.
