    Razor Burn

Alright, I shaved for my first time today (woopidy-doo ), And now I've got MAD razor/shaver burn. Is there anything I can do, because it hurts, quite badly.

I used a electric razor and that didn't work well so I went manual and i didn't hurt myself at ALL except once and it wasn't bad....what do you mean by razor burn?

Razor Burn? hehehe... I've got sensitive/dry skin, so I get it like a mofo sometimes... just get some sort of moisturizing something or other, it'll fix ya right up.
I'm way too old for this ****.

vitamin E gel tablets cut them open and put the gel on your burn does wonders for pain and looks

This is really weird, but I got the most demanding skin of any male or female I've ever seen. Shaving is a real problem cause it dries my skin out so bad that if I shave 2 times a week I look like I got sunbun so bad it's flaking.
Lets not even talk about razor burn.

I've found out wet shaving is a HUGE improvement. The direction ( up or down ) or the stroke makes a huge difference. Also the shaving cream.
To solve all of this I stroke with the grain and use gillet "for sensitive skin" ( the blue lable stuff )

Then just the other day I found something REALLY cool. It's the Gillet after shave gel, also the "sensitive skin" blue lable stuff. Man I tell ya what, that's heaven to my face. NO MORE drying, cracking, razor burn.

GUYS YOU GOTTA TRY THAT STUFF!!!!!!!

Go out and get yourself a Mach 3 kit. Use all the stuff it gives you. And some of you guys shave without wetting your face first!? I've never shaved without wetting my face first with warm water, then I shave, and then I put on the Gillette after shave (comes in a Mach 3 Kit). I've never had razor burn before (knocks on wood, heh ).

About the only place I even come close to get razor burn anymore in the back of my head ... I have been shaving my head since 92 and thats the only spot where that happens.

Like bratch says ... vitamin E is supposed to work great so I have heard .... never tried it though.

I will agree that the Mach 3 blade is great for cutting down on razor burn, but watch out if you mess up and cut yourself. An old g/f of mine grabbed me from behind one time while I was shaving my head and the razor skipped along my scalp ... left three nice cuts in my scalp that took about 20-30mins to stop bleeding.

I have really blonde hair, so I can get away with not shaving days at a time .... I never get razor burn ...

I recommend the MACH 3 razors ... they rawk!

                      Sincerely,

I prefer the Sensor Excel to the Mach 3, the Mach 3 is all floppy, I don't like it the way it wobbles. But in any case definitely get a good razor, avoid crappy ones, and buy brand name blades. Cheap-o ghetto brand replacement blades for a razer will HURT!

Gel works a little better than normal shaving cream.

Shave in the shower, the difference is huge.

If you shave and your face hurts, run a washcloth under REALLY hot water for a few seconds, squeeze the extra water out, and press the cloth against your face. It provides some quick relief from razor burn, I used to do it before I realized how much better shaving in the shower is.

Also, I reccomend using a moisturizing facial wash. (God I sound so gay right now...) I use Cetaphil. It looks like manmilk, but it does a great job at making your skin feel happy after a rough shave.

Bunch of wusses with your gels and lotions..

Water and the razor. All I need. Splash of cold water at the end.

I have been shaving about 3 years now(im almost 17)

and I have NEVER got razorburn. I used gillette shaving cream, and i use hot water to wash the razor after each stroke.

I have "broke out" before from not using the above method,so thats what ill stick to it.

good luck in whatever you do.

I've been shaving for almost 4 years now, and for three of those years, it has been everyday. My skin is drier than a pool in winter. I can't shave without razor burn, it's like part of the business. The only thing I can recommend at the moment is shave when you shower, and put some of your hand lotion on your face when you get out.
