    Grin and bear it.

The first time always hurts. Grin and bear it. You will train your skin soon enough.

Ditto Mango: I feel real old right now.

no one asked him but you did use shaving creme right?

I have REAL sensitive skin, tried all the sensitive crap, but the stuff with perfumes and whatnot even bothers me. Found Nivea shaving gel for men, that shiznitz works great!

I'd rather die than shave dry. It's all about the moisture, razors are meant to cut wet.

I use a Mach 3, and Noxzema (sp?) shave cream. Wet face, lather up, LEAVE the lather on face for like 10 mins so it can work, then shave. Razor burn almost non-existent.

Ehh, I'm 16 and I don't shave... I feel like a loser Actualy I feel lucky cause I don't have to deal with razors, lotion and razor burn. I have about 15 hairs on my chin and some fuzz im my face I usualy just use an electric beard and mustache trimmer to get off. But the fuzz on my face is getting rougher everytime it grows out, so bah, this kinda sux Might actualy have to start using a razor soon...
You smell like dookie... No really though.

My mach 3 is a murder weapon!!!; if I break concentration during a stroke I gouge myself; and I get 3 lil slits from the blades; its pretty badass

Yeah. I have very sensitive skin as well.

              1) Get a Mach 3, Excel or the best is a straight razor.

              2) Moisturize every night. Personally I use the neutragina stuff, works great. If that doesn't help, try a clay based mask.

              3) For the actual shaving cream. NEVER use a shaving cream with alcohol. It dries your skin. Causes razor burn. Don't use the foam either. Pretty much anything in a can is crappy, although the gillete gel's aren't so bad. Once again I use the sensitve skin neutragena stuff.

              4) First put a hot washcloth on your face, it'll open your pores. Then put the shaving cream on. You can use your fingers, but it's better if you use a shaving brush.

              5) Shave. Go WITH the grain of your hair, go slowly. Short even strokes.

              6) voila. perfect shave. Use after shave lotion and then a little moisturizing cream.

Yeah it's a system, yeah a bit on the fruity side. But chicks dig perfect shaves and soft skin. It'll pay off. Trust me.

Um. Never do that again. It's horrible for your skin. If I use one it makes my face bleed.

Just curious, how old were all of you when you started shaving?

well, ive been shaving since 13, and im 16 now, (17 in may) and ive used both types of saving methods. personally, i prefer the manual

THe Mach 3 is my personal favorite, but my first razor was the shick diamond lx(i thik thats what it was, it had diamond coated blades) they are both choice razors. I use the gel from gilette as well.

This is where i get odd, i shave against the grain, it seems to work much better for me, i must just be odd, but it never causes any discomfort.

The first time always hurts, but i reccomend you go and get your self a manual. I find it to actually be faster, and theie cheper in the long run. If you wish to keep using an electric, go get your self a good remmington, some of the best i ever used.

Another thing to try if you really want to avoid razors ...

"Magic Shave" lol ... it works great but smells like crap ... allot of the black guys in my unit used this stuff and you could smell it trough out the barracks ...

Be warned though, leave it on too long and you will cause a chemical burn to your face.
