I personally think the government could do better things with the billions of dollars spent each year on the drug war.

Sure some people would make bad choices about drugs. Some people dont brush their teeth in the morning. It shouldn't be a Federal government issue. Let the states make decisions about what should be illegal (someone else had that brilliant idea, oh yeah the founding fathers), then let me move to a state that wont waste hundreds of millions of OUR MONEY putting casual drug users who hurt no one but themselves in prison (I dont consider "emotional damage" to people they know as harmful enough to warrent jail time, and if children are involved the state could quickly fix that problem).

Phil, o for one would like to hear your story, maybe it may wake some people up. Marajuanna is "cool" today, because people like acting that way? does any one think its attractive? Il admit, yes i tried it once, and never again, i like having control of my self.


Also, marajuanna changes your brain chemistry. It takes your nice clear brain liquid, and turns it into a grey sludge, this is what makes you slow. Marajuanna is nothing to be proud of, and Transman, you even noted that you have seen performance decrease in school. IM assuming you dont care, well, have fun working down at the A&P and being a manager, because if you dont take care of your life now, your not going to get too far in the end.


These are my personal views, and based on scientific fact, and personal experiences with friends, relatives, etc. Nothing was peant to be offensive or malicious, olny informative

I haven't read any of your other opinions on drug laws, so I'll ask directly:
Do you feel anything you have said justifies marajuanna being illegal?.

Weed, where do I begin? Well, I am an engineering student, a sophomore. I also began smoking weed about a month ago. You know what's happened? Nothing. I don't crave it, I don't rape people or play with guns when I'm high, either. I believe that everyone needs to get high(not just smoke it) once. There would be a great deal more understanding then. I refuse to believe an marijuana "expert" who has not smoked, and I guarantee you those were the type of people behind the latest anti-drug campaign, which is, BTW, impossibly stupid. I could go on about this for pages, but I think I've made my point.

One more thing, Squid, your family doctor probably smokes, so chill out.

Anyway California is the #1 prducer in the US at about 22% Tenn produces about 11% and kentucky is about 9% there is almost half the pot grown in this country in three states. I know i dont support terrorism because i know exactly where my bud comes from and so do most other people.

i'm guessing that you know "exactly" where it comes from cause you grow it yourself or a get it from a close friend who does? just cause someone says its bc bud or something doesn mean that it really is. and where did you find those statistics?

it may not be addicting but if its fun, then why stop? since its not addicting, you "could" stop whenever you want, but why would you want to if its so fun? so weed could be addicting, although not chemically addiciting.

Unless you plan on getting a pilot certificate or medical exam anytime in the next 6 months.

Even if pot became legal that would not nessisarily prevent companies or organizations from engaging in hiring practices that exclude drug users (and I hope good companies would).

The previous president, current president, and many of the top presidential candidates of the last election all have drug histories. Surely not all of these men are the "waste of life who will amount to nothing", that some people think all drug users end up being..

heh...i dont even like marijuana....i just hate hypocrisy..

well time to voice my opinion since i live in second largest marijuana using city(in my opinion), next to humbolt county and i go to the biggest stoner school in the friggin world.

i know for a fact that everytime i light a blunt/j/bowl that it is california grown in humbolt by my friend's brother(i dont smoke as much as i may have made it sound). i personally believe that if anything is illegal it should be alcohol or cigarettes. lets look at the facts.

deaths by cigarettes a year are in the tens of thousands, alcohol caused deaths are in the thousands, and lets see.......the number of deaths caused by marijuana.................0

for the people that oppose the legalization of marijuana, i wanna know why. dont gimme some stupid facts that you got of some website, gimme some good reasons. i can give you plenty of reasons for alcohol and cigarettes being illegal, and i can bet that it is a WHOLE lot more than yours.

PHIL-i wont deny that marijuana can destroy families, but that marijuana usage is different than the majority. those people who are torn apart by marijuana probably are not only smoking just weed, and dont live in too good of an area. You have had a personal experience with marijuana tearing apart your friend/family members life and i am sorry for that. but the fact is that alcohol and cigarettes are much more serious; gambling causes more injuries both emotional and physical than marijuana.

marijuana is a drug that teenagers mainly use to just have fun, and get away from it all. marijuanas side affects are nothing compared to alcohol and cigs, and for that brain sludge stuff to happen, you would have to smoke an ungodly amount.

i dont know if i am so pro marijuana just cause it helped keep my father alive for an extra year or so, or that i like how it makes me feel, but i can tell you that there is no good reason for cigs and alcohol to be legal over it.

So many studies have shown, that being stoned affects your brain function the same as alcohol. Many of you say that we "should" get stoned, "need" to be stoned, should use it to "get away from it all". Stay away from me and mine. If you can't handle the sun rising and falling each day, I don't want your weak self near me.

Grow up and live life, instead of hiding from it.
