Hey everyone...
Assuming we've all got this little habit called "paintball" we all have to fund it somehow, right? Well, since September, I've been part of this group called "UNEMPLOYED". I'm having a lot of trouble finding good part-time work.
I REALLY don't want to work anywhere in the food industry. I used to work in a deli, and It was a LOT of work for a relativly little amount of money, and scheduling was crap. Cleaning up dishes all day is not my Idea of a good job.
Grocery stores are a no-no too... I've heard PLENTY of horror stories.. the nick name "Slave-Way" and Shampoo-spills come to mind... *ugh*
I'm actually signed up at a temp-agency, but since I'm a student, it's hard to find work that can start at 2:00 PM in the afternoon. Most of the work they can get me is all-day stuff.
I go to a community college, so on-campus work is pretty much out of the question. All of the work-studys and stuff are for people on financial-aid, and seeing that my parent's combined income is just under 6 digits, and I live in a condo downtown, I doubt I can be eligible for that.
Lastly, I'm not a "people person." I *Really* can't handle customers very well.. I think it has to do something with my superiority complex
I have a very hard time hiding my anger when someone asks me "How do I do this again? I forgot" or "Why doesn't my disc fit in the slot?" (Disc already in there" or my fav. "Why is there a cup-holder on my computer?" (Referring to the CD Drive).
I used to work in my last school's computer lab. It almost drove me to insanity.
...anyone got any "Tricks" to finding good part-time work? Am I just being too picky about where I want to work?
