    Counter-Strike Problem

Well, at one time i was able to join my friends LAN games. Everyone on adelphia cable internet could join anothers game. Now I can't. It says " LAN games restricted to class C clients only ". I want to play LAN games again. Whats the deal?

Also, when my friend goes to play an Internet game, it says his half-life exeuctable is out of date. Then it runs the update program and it says the game is the current version. I know he has 1.3 but it won't work. It will for LAN's though...he can play LAN's and he has the same internet company as I do. I can see his game but I can't join!

    AHhhh help!

i have the same problem that ur friend does, when the message comes up that says that, just push cancel and play like normal. It works for me.

ironically i also have adelphia CRAP CABLE! It sucks. I thought you could only play LAN games when your connected with them through a network, not connecting to one by joining to game...
Im a 1.5 callorie treat that everyone loves to eat!

Do you or your friend have the latest version of Half Life? It's version 1108 I believe. You may have 1.3 but need the half life patch also. If you have it, good, but I can't think of anything else that would cause that. You may try reinstalling Counterstrike or entire Half Life. Are you running the mod or the retail version?

Yea, i'm the one that can't enter the public games, XspyX can, but I can play LAN games and XspyX can't. We BOTH want to play public and LAN games but can't figure it out!

One thing that struck me and XspyX as odd was that when we were installing it on my computer It never asked us to enter the cd code. So i dont know if that has anything to do with it or not.

TicTac...It still doesn't let me play after i hit cancel.

Yeah, try downloading new versions of half life and counterstrike. Don't use that built in upgrader, it's crap. Download the patches off file planet or something.

I dont know why a game would restrict you to class C addresses only. I dont know what your ip is, but it's obviously not a class C. (there are 3 classes of ip addresses, a, b and c. C is for most people, b is for larger institutions, and a is for real big, like government institutions and stuff) Try changing your ip address. I dont know if you have a static or a dynamic ip. It probably is dynamic. I'd call your isp and tell them about the problem. I think it's just a setting somewhere.
