I have watched that move 30 times already.... it's clear I hit him first...

and that was the first call.. "You hit him, but he shot your first, I saw it" ... then it went to "You missed him" to "he shot you on the butt while you were sitting down" to "He shot you in the foot" ... to me walking off the field... I don't mind losing, cause what it did.. was put a "newbie" team in 3ed... so they loved it, and will be back out at the field alot...

so I can give that up.. it's cool.. I'll post the video tomorrow if I get the program... =]

OK, with that said... The real problem with the whole bad call thing was people on the sideline (NOT PLAYING) were making the calls in favor of the tourney winner. (Go figure) The refs on the field would make the call from across the field or come over (obviously out of position) and make the call the sideline "refs" were calling for. Then cheering because the call went against team Jedi's Mom.

Looked fishy to me.

During other games they (sideline refs) were making calls on the teams playing and yelling at the refs (real refs) to call a person out and named the bunker. Real sportsmanship at work there. But the kicker is the real refs would do whatever the sideline refs were calling out. Almost without question. I did notice that when the team they were rooting for got a player hit, they got quiet. "O *crap* they just hit him."

OK, I'm done venting...

Team Jedi's Mom did a terriffic job, with only a couple of exceptions, *cough*bad calls*cough*, they played very well, and deserved second for sure, but could have easily taken first.

The pics will be up as soon as I can get the film developed and scanned.

EDIT: Aren't refs supposed to be indifferent, removed, not determined to help a friends team win?

I just didn't want it to sound like I was crying... cause that is my home field.... but I'm not "liked" by that group.. cause they are on the edge of being kicked off.. and I'm on the edge of picking up the field for my team

NP. There are a few issues that need to be dealt with, and I'd be glad to bring the family down and play. Thumper liked the layout of the field saturday, and was going to come today, but something came up.

I am checking on events in Dalton to see if we can find a reason to get a good day in up here. We will of course need to drag Load and Jonsie along too!

but.... let me know, I think Load might have been a little let down by our play.... but like you said, the reffing was not in anyway in our favor.... seemed almost liked we were the "hated" team in the tourny...

Where they young refs? I find young refs are really easily influenced as to making calls. Sounds like they just didn't have a clue as of how to ref either, since it was said they were across the field at times and out of position. Well at least you guys had fun. Who knows, maybe it was a conspiracy against your team name, as they didn't know the whole story to the JEDI's mom thing and they thought you were some Star Wars Jedi fans, and they like Darth Vader more.

Heh just a thought.

Moose said they didn't ref very much, but there were a few younger refs. There was one older adult, and a couple over 18 I think.

The field owns bother.. "Jay" ..

he is "SVT" team Cpt..
they don't ever help out reffing at the field... there is only one on their 5 man that does any reffing...

Dan the owner of the field TOLD his brother that his team HAD to reff. so they weren't all that happy to start with..
plus theses guys have been playing at that field for 5 years, and the first and second place team... are friends with them... long time friends... and the guys calling from the sidelines *the older man* was the guys son ..t he one with the angel and warp...

so they all go back a few years, and me.. I'm new to the field.. and when I showed up and started reffing every weekend... I got the favor.. and Dan the owner is sick of SVT.. and is on the edge of no longer supporting the team.. they are on the thin line right now...

and it's cause he has regluar reffs, and a team building to help him... and that likes to help him.. so I'm sure we don't sit well with "SVT" to start with.....

and they were reffing....

There's the whole home bias thing, were any of the sideline spectator/players saying anything to the father that was yelling to make certain calls?

I'd say it's only so long before their let go by the field. Especially if they leave an image on the field with customers, and they lose business over it. Bad reffin is one way, and it could very well cause them to get the heave ho.

I heard one of the sideline refs call 'man at the 50', when his father's team was on the field. He said it loud enough that his dads team picked up on it and repeated it. Or it was just very coincidental. I also heard other position info being said very loud when that team was playing.

Just my observations. But Devil can cooberate my story.
