Help 720 support our service men & women

    AO,
For those of you that don't know, Seven Twenty is almost done with it's first nationaly released paintball video "Beyond the Fifty".

What we would like to do is distribute these to our servicemen. Specifically those serving aboard Navy ships. Why? Because the ships are wired with TVs and having been there and done that (USMC Somalia), I know how boring it is floating around waiting for something to happen.

So, if anyone can help me get in touch with:

    1) A ship's XO
    2) A ship's A/V officer
    3) A ship's ???

I can contact them and get the ball rolling. It doesn't matter if they are underway or not, I believe they still have access to email. They should then be able to help me get in contact with other ships.

For those stationed ashore, we intend to work with the Red Cross to get some included in care packages. Obviously, these would need to be targeted towards some of the larger concentrations of people where they have mess facilities, TVs, electricity, etc.

It also sounds like we'll be able to get some copies of Paintball 2 Xtremes for distribution as well. Kudos to National Paintball for helping on that end.

If you've got any information that would be of use, please email me at: [email protected]

    Thanks
    -Brad

You can try www.military.com and ask on their forums. Recruiters and various military personnel frequents the boards and would be happy to help.

From the bottom of my heart: Thank You Brad!

This is above and beyond, and I commend you for thinking of the welfare of our sailors and Marines aboard ship. I know, that despite thousands of men living shoulder to shoulder on some of those cans, it can be a very lonely place. A piece of home is a big welcome at anytime.

            Yes Brad,

Awesome Idea! Actually I know someone in the army that just got stationed in Iraq. If you let me know how much the tape costs I send it on to him.

He was an avid paintball player and I'm sure he would enjoy it.

Great idea, I think I make a care package and send it over to him.

              Heya Brad, Great Idea!!!!

The PAO will be the person you need to contact on every boat. The Public Affairs Officer would be able to direct you to the people that you need to talk to. The above navy.mil website would be the best way of tracking them down. And yes, they can get email out to sea, just don't ask when/where they are going to be.

                Excellent info guys and gals.
I spoke to a few people at the Red Cross today and I was told that their care packages have been put on hold indefinitely. In fact, any package that isnn't addressed to a specific person are not going through for a couple of reasons. 1st, security concerns. You all can imagine what could get sent to them. 2nd, their mail system was overloaded during the holidays. That's a good thing. : )

So anyway, it looks like the magazines in the care packages are out. But I'll try to track down some folks using the websites listed above.
Thanks for your help and keep it coming!

Hehe, I was in Germany a few years back, and they had all those Saturday morning mini cartoons, "conjunction junction", "I'm just a Bill", all those. IT was pretty cool! Brought back childhood memories....

                        Hey Brad-

You should support our unit when we deploy to Bosnia. We're trying to think of ways to get our paintball fix while in country.

Guys and Gals we are running out of Classic space here so I am going to move this over to Friendly Corner where there is more "Classic" space.

I think its important enough to keep a classic and I fear its going to get bumped if I leave it here. Maybe some more will see it over there anyway!
