    car accident this morning...

This has been a really hard day. My best friend brittney was hit by a car while crossing a crosswalk on the way to mcdonalds with me earlier this morning. We had the walk signal but some1 ran a red light. They braked but did not stop in time. This is very serious. The car was going really fast and I dont think its going to be good. Im too shaken up to go into details right now but she is in the hospital and is in SERIOUS condition. This has been the hardest morning of my life.

I found this very ironic because i had just made a thread about her and many people on AO know who she is (or what she looks like )

all im asking is please say a prayer for her I dont know how bad this is yet.

I am sorry to hear about that. As you probably know, my daughter was hit by a car not long ago, but not as bad as your friend.

I hope all goes well, and that she heals fast and true.

hope she gets better real soon. this is why i don't trust anyone on the road. some people just become such idiots whenever they get in a car.

You have my condolences. I'll pray for her, even though I'm not the praying type. Take it one step at a time, that's the only way to make it through these things.

I hope everything's okay with her. Give me an address for the hospital and I'll toss some flowers her way.

                    thanks a lot guys

she is pretty stable now. she broke her arm, wrist, and shoulder and has a big gash on her forehead. she also has a buized hip. it looks really bad when you see her but the doctors said she is going to be ok. She is just really banged up.

warpfeedmod- thanks for the offer but im thinking logically and ill have to pass. by the time i got the adresss and got it to you and by the time the flowers got to her she probably wont be there. Thanks a lot though it was very thoughtful of you.

this makes me think though. When your 16 you seem to think your invinsable. If everyone would just take my word for it when I say you arent. I just ran straight into reality today. All it takes is a rainy day here in southern cali and when these drivers arent used to the rain it is slippery. Watching that happen made me really start to think. Bad things can and do happen to anyone. ANYONE. she is a beautiful girl with a lot going for her and had that car been going a little faster or had not put on its brakes she could be dead right now. Its a really hard concept to think about. it just opens your eyes a little....

Glad to hear that everyone is doing fine. Yeah, drivers in SoCal can't really drive in bad weather, even in construction zones. I'm have been a computer field technician for 6 years now. I always saw at least one accident a day. Most SoCal drivers can never learn to to slow down in bad conditions. But I'm glad that she is doing fine.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, and I'm glad to hear she's going to be okay. Take from a guy who lives in one of the worse climate around, drivers are dumb, PERIOD! No matter what the weather, there's always one moron that has to think they own the road and can do what they want. Speed limits are for a reason, the police tell everyone to slow down in non-perfect weather for a reason. Whay can't these idiots get through thier thick skulls? My friends mother was hit by a car and she too was lucky to walk away from the ordeal with nothing but broken bones and the usual scrapes and bruizes. If the guy who hit her was going even 5 KPH faster... I'd hate to think of what would have happened. I only have one more thing to add:

                        PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE!!

By obeying the rules of the road, you may just save a life.

glad too hear she is doing okay. i agree, once my friend was hit at first i didnt even know what to say or do but after a while it sunk in and i realized it. i would have never even thought that would have happened to one of my friends or even someone i knew.

Glad to hear she's alright. I have been through the whole car accident thing and its not a lot of fun, so best of luck to her in the near future. Hopefully she will recover as fully as I did, but without the nasty scar I got on my forehead. Her injuries really scared me, cause they are very similar to mine were when i got in an accident in April.

I know I will be driving a little bit more carefully tomorrow
