Does anyone know of a high quality digital camera that has a fast shutter speed and works well without flash? My camera is great but its getting to be around 5 years old and is very slow to me now, and it has poor no-flash perforamce (very long shutter speed!). Does anyone have any suggestions?

The H.P. 812 has realy great shutter speed,
It stopped this End Mill running at 3200 RPM.
Look at the mill you can see the flute's,
and you can see the chip's in the air.

Yes, the Canon G2 and G3 are some of the best digital camera's I've handled. My dad has a g2, and it's great.
It allows you to control aperature, and shutter speeds with Av and Tv modes (Aperature priority, Shutter Prioirty) and also full manual, and full program modes.
PolishSausage, I wouldn't go as far as saying that it's the *best* digital camera ever.
...ever handled a Canon D1 or a Nikon D100?
but yeah, for that price range, you're not going to get anything better.
Last I checked, the Nikon D100 was about $1900. Body only. You need at *least* one lense for it which'll run at least $200, which'd be like a 50mm F/1.8D. I guess some people don't need more than a 50mm... it's a pretty standard lense.
Hmm... Nikon D100 or X-mag.... Hmm....
*edit* I forgot to mention that the G2 and G3 are the most SLR-like digital camera's I've handled.
