Give me some of the other options, I don't need the best one. Just want to hear some other ways we can liberate the Iraqis and bringing stabality to the region and world.

Yeah, we should just let it slide. Let's wait till he gets something of value, like Nuclear missles THEN we will deal with the problem.

Seriously though, what are people thinking?

What I find funny is the fact that the United States put Saddam in power in the first place. We also helped the Taliban. I mean hell the brits taught the Taliban how to fight. I still feel that N.Korea is more dangerous at the moment. THEY HAVE THE WEAPONS AND ARE BRANDISHING THEM LIKE LITTLE GANGSTERS W/ THEIR PIECES! They are ready for any altercation with the US. Saddam has now already allowed the spy planes to fly over. I feel that war with Iraq is just gonna further the cause of Al Quada in persuading others that we are the "white devil". Oh and the reason Iraq lit the oil fields a blaze was to make it tougher for the allied forces to see & breathe. That's just common strategy. Like how the Germans used smoke screen to make it so the bombers couldn't see the targets. Whether or not Saddam has WMD I don't know. I don't believe everythint I see on TV. I can go on TV and say that John Doe is a terrorist but that doesn't make it true. Our Gov't sometimes hides the truth to make it seem strong. It's happened in the past and I'm pretty sure it goes on today. I still feel that war isn't the answer. What is the answer, I don't know but killing isn't the answer.

I'd love to see any group of terrorists overthrow the Iraqi government we put in place considering we will have troops there for many years to come, until the region has stabalized.

And if it did turn into 'terrorist' HQ, we'd go back and fix it again making sure there is more millitary presence.

This is the real world bud, sure, you might not like war, but there is no other alternative.

          Countless UN resoultions, nada.
          Weapon inspectors, nada.

What's gonna work huh? I forgot, you don't know, no left wing hippy has ANY idea what to do! Hussein needs to be stopped, what's going to do it? Not UN resoultions, not weapon inspectors. When you can come up with away to liberate the Iraqi people without a 'war' (Also known as a day or two of light fighting as most of the Iraqi army is gonna ditch him), let me know. Otherwise you are nothing more then a hippy.

.."war isn't the option dude, i dunno what is tho man"
So we are going to have American soldiers in the Muslim holy land forever. That is what you are saying, for the second US troops leave, the government will be overthrown (I give it up to a year). I beat those fundamentalist terrorist who grew up some much support with the notion of the US having airbases in Saudi Arabia are going to have a field day with the fact that an army of US troops are stationed on their holy soil.

Have you heard of a country called Iran ask them what happens when a pro western gov is in power.

Don't you love those cop outs, why not portray me as one of those pot smoking, free loving, commune living, flower children of the 60's we all make fun of. For you seem to not be able to say one reason what war will do. Why not try and make fun of me and discredit me.

To say the US is going in here to liberate the Iraqi people is spilling forth the worse propaganda I have ever seen. If the US would have given a crap about the Iraqi people they wouldn't make the comments they do about the 1,000,000 children that died as result of US lead UN sanctions. I think Madeline said something like those things happen.

          I will ask again.

          What will war solve?

            What will war solve?

^^^ That my friend is a question with no argument to it. It is merely a broad declarative in the guise of a interrogative.

Do you suggest that the US and UN just hang back for another 12 years?

Have you forgotten that Saddam gives $50,000 cash money to the families of suicide bombers? Take that money giving away, and you stop the bombings from occuring that are on a weekly basis.

Isn't that alone a reason to get rid of him? I'm not a big fan of people in power paying others to suicide bomb. On top of that, it's civilians being killed.

The bombings are causing Israel to retaliate. These suicide bombings are not allowing peace talks to occur. So much good can come from Saddam being ousted.

What bad can come of it? More hatred for the US? The terrorists are going to hate us even more? lol

You use such odd rhetoric for your arguments. Millions of children starved due to sanctions.

The man in power in Iraq stepped up the building of palaces during sanctions. Go read some articles on that. Millions and millions of dollars went towards building each palace. Perhaps instead of building palaces to aid in his weapons programs, he could have fed his people?

The only reason that he is not outright killing the Kurds to the north is due to the no-fly zone that the UN coalition is protecting. The same no-fly zone planes that are protecting the Kurds are being attacked every week. This is also breaking UN resolutions.

The Chinese and French also aided Iraq since the Gulf War.

They aided with the air defense hardward and upgrading. The missle defenses are now linked thanks to the French installed fiber-optic network. They can now attack coalition airplanes with faster reaction times and precision.

Odd, the French don't want to go to war. Maybe they know something we don't.

The French want stronger inspections? Have the inspectors been half assing it the whole time? Let this get clear to you- We are not looking for weapons of mass destruction. We are looking for proof that he has stopped production and disposed of his stockpiles.

The Iraqis cannot account for any.

So what will war solve? It sure will have some good come of it that's for sure. The benefits outweigh the costs.

The troops are mobilized. They are just waiting for the UN to quit dicking around and grow a back bone.
