    Oh god.

Oh god, my Dad got ahold of one of those "Total Gyms." He's going to start picking me up from school so we can work out together. I'm not adverse to exercise, I lift, but you've got to understand, my dad is insanely strong, he used to be a gymnast. This wouldn't be so bad either, but I know I'm going to be sore as hell, and going to P.E. sore, and collapsing after 20 push ups isn't going to look good. *Cries*

... you make it sound so bad? Working out helps your stamina when you're playing paintball.

            Dude,
Youre lucky, as was stated by SHartley. My dad didn't do crap with me... At least by asking you to work out with him you know he acknowledges your existance...

I dont know if I will be in shape for it either.. I mean im not fat, but I'm not as uh.. strong I guess as I would like to be.. I just dont get around to working out.. I mean its all like ok tonight im going to work out, then I end up being all like oh man its too late to work out.. I've got plenty of stamina, and it's not that I don't like my dad, if I was going to work out with someone it'd be him, but I'm going to choke in P.E. and look like a moron. =(

Was that a tinge of Martha Stewart I just read in your post Shartley? LOL!

Seriously, I think it's cool that your dad wants to spend time with you. And because you didn't dismiss the idea as stupid, it sounds like you want to spend time with him. Painful though it may be.

Have fun! If he works you too hard, get him out on the paintball field and get even with him!

On a side note, Personman, don't miss out on it because you feel you're 'too weak'. I didn't do any conditioning for it and I was allright. Trust me, you'll be kicking yourself for the rest of your life if you don't go to philmont for some reason like that...

Well, when I was iving at home (in HS and college), my dad's idea of working out involved the 2 of us cutting wood. He cut the trees, I hauled the branches away and loaded the truck. Then, when we got home, I'd unload the truck (keep in mind, this is all during the winter because the ground is frozen, and there's no need to worry about getting stuck in the mud). I also had to split wood using either a 8 lb. maul or a 15 lb. log blaster.
