    A farewell to spring break.

Well, all this snow has apparently hardened the Superintindents heart. We have missed 10 days this school year and according to the original plan, we would make up 5 days that we normally get off for random things. Well, Our beloved Superintendent is revealing he is planning to cancel spring break. I understand it isn't his fault that we have missed 10 days, but he has to stand up and face the repercussions of his decisions. I can tell you right now, this is like kicking us when we are down. The RCSS should be in the record book for low morale. Most of our pep ralleys were cancelled and anytime something major happens(like 9/11 last year), we are shut off from it.

As it was, we were going to go the beach and I was gonna go fishing, but that is no more. Oh well, I really enjoyed shovellin snow, drying my pants, and staying inside instead of spring break at the beach

I wonder how many people have vacations already booked. If there are a lot, and they aren't refundable, needless to say there will be a lot of letters and parents at the next PTA meeting.

what you could do is get a bunch of your friends go on contract for that week and have your own spring break.

Yeah thats true. I wrote it though in thought of my school, where if we miss 2 days or less, we're able to exempt 2 finals. So it be the choice of exemption or missing (definately just miss though since a large amount of money be involved). But there would still be those parents mad at the thought their child is missing school.

Hey, I am working like mad, or atlease I was, so I could go the whole nine yards and rent a boat and stuff. But that's all in vain now. Oh well, maybe I can buy some nice snow shovels, because that's really all I can do now.

Or wait another month or two and then go in June?

I have Jubilee Project work training for the better part of June. I go to the beach in August, but will hopefully paintball while I'm there. I know it sounds like a petty complaint, but I(and several thousand others) were looking forward to spring break. So much for that. We'll be studying why LBJ flubbed Vietnam or watching a video about the dangers of rotary phone sex or something retarded like that.

My wife and I were just talking about this last night (our neices spring break is also being canceled). It is amazing that they can't plan better. Out there (Hersey, PA) they build in more snow days, don't use them so next year they build in fewer. The amount of snow in on about a two year cycle. They are always off by a year! It doesn't seem that hard to plan. I know the seniors want a cast in stone ending date, but what's wrong with the seniors getting out at a different date than everyone else? They do here.

                              Anyway, I feel your pain.
