Why do people send /make a computer virus?

WHY?! it's just really stupid! I just got one yesterday and have no clue what to do. All I could wonder about is why do people do it. It's stupid and dumb, and doesn't it take a lot of training/learning to know how to do this stuff? It's kinda like training to become dishonest JERK. I'm no computer wiz so you guys decide.

As misguided as it is, I believe its somewhat of a challenge for hackers. It's a "what can I do, how far can I push it" kind of mentality.

I think it's more about "beating the system"... knowing that you, one person, has singly defied numerous corporations' software and hardware. They might also be looking just to cause havoc. I'm not a fan of getting viruses and all that, but I don't take it personally if I get one.

Hackers are pretty much a part of the economy. Hackers force companies to make anti-virus and security programs/systems, which people will buy. It's a vicious cycle.

If any of you happen to play Diablo2, there reasoning is to get peoples password by sending keyloggers/trojans. Then they can log on other peoples account, take their good stuff, and sell it on some website.

virus writers/hackers ought to get some nasty disease, wherein their gentialia enlarge to the point that they have to carry them around in wheelbarrows.

there'd be no doubt about what they did...

I get viruses and such periodically just because I really don't have much regard for my computer, or it's health. I personally think they do it for the same reason we make faster, lighter, brighter, cooler, flashier things for paintball. But the difference is, when I make a new harness, I challenge my sewing skills and make it as good as I can. The stupid l33t haxor whatever spazzes, they don't. They hack into computers that no one cares about. It's not like I really care if they find my stash of history papers. It's not impressive in any way shape or form if you hack into my computer. It's harder to break into a fortune cookie for gods sake. What is so cool about giving a sick computer a virus. Nothing.
