OK - whats with all the boondock saints?

I saw that movie like what 4 or 5 years ago when it first came out. I liked it - as I often like quirky crime films... Now I see it cropping up in you all sigs, and Ive heard buzz on chat rooms.

What? Did you all finally just find this movie and liked it -or is it bigger than that?

I believe it just came back out on DVD.. at least I heard.. Still have to see it tho.

it was recently re-released on DVD and there is talk of a #2 in the works

I' saw the movie when it came out too. I've seen it hundreds of times, and am really looking forward to the second movie. Like wyn1370 said, it's more of a cult following. It really started getting big on AO when I started that fanclub.

I think it's becoming what Resevoir Dogs was in the early 90s- a low-budget alright film that is hip to like.

This Movie did rule...... so much so that I used it as my choice for Thesis Paper in my Film Class during my Frosh Year of college, I wrote a nice little 10page paper on this movie, was awesome......

I think the primary reason for all the BDS buzz of late was the creation of the fan club...not so much that people just saw the movie.

Jam, don't be so quick to assume that people like the movie just because it is "hip."

I think part of the reason that it's popular is that if I were morally challanged, had tons of guns and was *really* good with them, knew where a buncha mobsters were, and knew I wouldn't get caught, i'd do that too

That wasn't so much aimed at people here on the board as much as at people who never saw the movie or just saw it and are just all about it... It's a good movie, not arguing that.
