    Adobe Premier Help

I just got Adobe Premier 6.5. I just want to do one thing. I have a video of one of my hockey games, and I want to cut out the part where I got a goal. So that my folks can download it on their 56k connection. The original video is about 210 megs, it's 40 minutes long, and it's a .WMV. I used the razor tool to cut out my goal. So I had the clip I wanted. When I export it to an AVI file, it's huge, it's like 225 megs. Obviously I'm doing something wrong. A 1 minute video, of lousy quality shouldn't be 225 megs. What are the settings I should set that would make it take up less space?

    Thanks

Well, you have to choose one of the compression codecs. You don't need stereo sound, so you can mix it down to mono. Also, 15-20 fps (frames per second. Not Feet Per second) is ok. Anything more and you get HUGE files.

Think of this- 1MB per frame, 30 frames per second, 60 seconds.

Then you add in sound. Time to do some cutting. If you have any other issues, go here--

I need help too, never though of asking here lol...

How do I add text into the video with a clear background? Every time I add text it makes a black bacground with white text.. I just want text to show up on the screen and still be able to see the video

That's a layering thing. If you go through those tutorials I posted, there's one specifically for this I think.
