AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
You should buy me a new marker, so I don't have to use a spyder.

Just need to decide on a DVD player. I will be getting the mounting bezel with this and installing it myself. Interesting project and this thing has a stunning display.
AGD, where we are so good we can do it with only ONE tube!
Oh! and shopping around at places like Best Buy and the like this would run you like $1500 to $2000 installed. Putting it together myself and installing myself it will be about $700 invested. And this is like one of the most expensive video monitor displays you can find too by the way. But Sony quality. And motorized too. Thats how much mark up is on this stuff though. Nonsense!

Yea all mobile electronics are marked up a lot. As far as sony quality, i have never found a mobile adio / video product frm them that I have liked. Pioneer makes higher quality mobile electronics than sony imo....
but i do enjoy driving behind thoes vans with the mobile video :) too bad its always some crappy disney movie
Well I did look at Pioneers stuff. But I ran into two problems with what I could find. One is that they seem to only be making one overhead model. It's not realy too bad a price and might could have ended up a tiny bit cheaper on it. But its a flat roof model without a "trim-able" bezel mount making it unworkable in my Truck. or at least it would not fit nice and look nice. And plus the fact that it was a 6.5" screen which was not my choice in size. I couldn't seem to find any other models that they make that would work. They seem to spend a lot of thier effort into Dash mounts and such as that and not much choice in their overhead stuff.
That was true of Sony too though. This one seems to be the only one they are marketing as well. But at least its designed to go into a trim package that can accomadate uneven roof lines. And its at least 7 inches.
I guess the two of them do not want to realy get into that overhead market too much as its crowded with cheap competitors already.
I see that ebay is full of folks selling overhead monitors that they bought that would not work because they were flat roof install only type of hardware. Thats something you have to look into and be carefull you get the unit AND the bezel as well if you have a uneven roof line to work with. And many do not bother to check. And so they end up selling them and no one wants em. You can get good prices on those.
