Alright here goes, please excuse my poor typing i'm a little upset right now.
I have had my heart set on going to Korea for a week with my Taekwondo school ever since they went last year and i saw what they did (i had midterms so i couldnt go). Well this year they rescheduled he event and it was earlier in the year so i could go! I was exstatic and started saving every paycheck.
Then i saw the Ronn Stern PB camp, and i immidiately fell in love with that too! Ever since i first read about it i told myself i was going to go!
Now, the korea trip would cost me about 1k (800 for ticket and 200 for spending, because all meals and housing was paid for the competitors) and the PB camp would cost 700...so that is 17 hundred dollars in 4-5 months that i had to save.
And that brings us to today, i was prepared to have to choose between pb camp and korea and it was going to be korea. But now it turns out my TKD school IS NOT going for reasons i can not go into at this moment and we will be unable to go this year!! So now i'm like, ok i'll go next year, so now i can go to PB camp!
I tell my dad that there is no Korea trip and tell him that i want to go to this PB camp, he says "well how much does it cost?"
i tell him "600 dollars for a week" (note: i kinda exagerrated the time and lowered the cost just a little to see how he might react)
All of a sudden he goes "well it's a HUGE waste of money but do what you want." so he goes on giving me this HUGE guilt trip about how i'll go and find out "i'll be with a bunch of 13 year olds" (his exact words) and that i wont like it. but he keeps saying "but spend your money however you want, i dont care" in a sarcastic tone that means he completely dissagrees with me and REALLY DOESNT WANT ME TO GO AT ALL
so i'm kinda tore up right now...my mother is really emocional and has supported me trying to do both and has tried helping me raise funds for both, and because there was no korea trip she wanted me to do the PB camp
now her and my dad are arguing over it and yelling and now my mom is crying in bed over it. I dont know what to do....someone please help
i'm looking for insight from adults/parents and teenagers who might've experienced the same thing.
i'll have to end this now i have to go talk to my mom

Anyway save your $ for the Korea trip, have enough spending money. As for Ronn's camp, don't even bother. You'd be better off spending the $ to play in tournies and stuff, you'd learn a lot more there.
