At school, I'm taking a class called Entrepreneurship. The class is really a business we're supposed to create by buying a product and then selling it in the school. We get our initial start up funds from the stock we sell. Only problem though right now we haven't thought of a good product to sell. That's why I've come to see if you guys have any good suggestions on what to sell and where to get it. It really needs to be inexepensive and cost less than $3.50 per product (when we sell it for profit). So I wanted to see if you guys have any good (school appropriate) ideas or suggestions. BTW, the last year's Ent. class sold carribeaners, so something other than that. Thanks for the help!

Right now I believe we have like $150, we just started selling our stocks on Monday. We most likely will not be buying the product until two weeks or later. So we should have more then hopefully, we just need enough for an initial purchase then we can purchase more as sales go on.
On the whole can and bottle coolers, yeah we thought of that, but the teacher said no because of certain beverages.
Lanyards was done by another class about 2 years ago, wasn't too good.

Easy
Kripy Kreme Donuts!
I am not kidding. Go into business as a Krispy Kreme "Franchise". I am advisor to a youth group and this is one of our best fund raisers. If you are in the south, there has to be one around you. Go to your local store, explain the project to the manager and run it in 1 of 2 ways. Create an order book and take preorders at $4.00 a dozen. Then purchase them at $3.00 a dozen and deliver them. A 33% profit on a resale business. Or you can sell voucher's for a dozen donuts for say $3.50 against your $3.00 cost. You then have a smaller profit, but no delivery costs either. My group made a killing with this. It is easy and popular.
Good luck!Comment

Yea we will be limited, but hopefully we will have enough to get what we want in the beginning. The candy has been the number 1 option so far right now with everyone. Just to give you a lowdown, things we have had suggested in our class have been:
Keychains, candy, stress balls, and beaded necklaces and bracelets (with class year options and colors).
We will have more than $150 before our first purchase, it mainly though depends on how much stock we are able to sell though. Most of the past companies have come out well at the end, as the employees (class members) recieved there salary (Which is something like $.50-1 an hour, its just school though remember but it adds up in an 18 week semester) and the stockholders recieved there investment back and made some money also (the stocks are $2, the average amount back per stock was like a $.25).
Also, we do have business leader support. It's run through Junior Achievement, and they set us up with our stock paper and such, and all the paperwork supplies needed for the business for the records and such. JA also trains are business leaders from the business world who help us in the process and with our "board meetings."Silver ULE X Valved Mag

Tigerman,
I did something like this before in School.
I will tell you one thing: Food Always sells the best. Carmel Corn, Cotton Candy, Chocolate, etc... Outsold any other item that anyone made.
Go for something that's cheaply made and yummy. You'll sell 'em like hot-cakes. Heck, MAKE some hot-cakes if it's easy

I used to sell candy out of my bookbag in High School. No room for books but I was making money so oh well! I kept choices low and carried alot, Reeses Cups and Blow pops always and thru in dif. things from time to time. I bought them cheap at Sams and made a killing. The last one always got auctioned off, the highest I ever received was $2.50 for a standard 2 pack Reeses Cup.Comment
