No, it doesn't always get it right. MOST of the time, yes. I did the 27 and it gave me a smiley face... WRONG. I did it again and it gave me the right one.
I have found that one in about 30 or so is wrong (at least for me), but still pretty strange.
Yes, please tell us how this works if you really know.....

i think I know now. Not every number can be an answer so it gives the same symbol to almost every possible answer. So mainly its a 1/3 or 1/2 chance.

I believe i figured out how it works. Every number you get is a multiple of nine. 84, 8+4= 12, 84-12=72, 8x9=72. Or for say 78, 7+8= 15, 78-15=63, 7x9= 63. If you look at the chart the multiples of nine all have the same symbol, 9,18,27 etc etc. I cannot come up with any numbers that dont work but i suppose there could be one or two.AGG!Comment

the only numbers that they can be is a multiple of 9 Ie: 9 18 27 36 45 54 63 72 81 & each time you go back the symbles change on the numbers, so it looks like it is picking a different symble all the time. if you look it will be the same symbol for each of those numbers & the next time you go back those symbols have changed on the numbers so it looks like it is picking different symbols all the time
