    USAF drops the bomb

USAF drops largest conventional (Non-Nuclear) bomb in our arsenal...

21,000 pounds (Moab). Next one down is 15,000 (Daisy Cutter)

I bet it chops paint like a mofo though.

I expected it to be up on the Kazaa/Grokster network 15 minutes after it went off, but no.

I don't think they want it spreading... They are going to test some Daisy Cutters next, meh, nothing special

Too bad I wasn't flying when it happened I would have loved to see it from the air! Little dissappointed in it though. It didn't rock the house like I wanted.

Did they check for Canadian troops this time

Imagine looking up and seeing one of those on the way down. Can't run. Can't hide. Just put your head between your knees and kiss your butt goodbye.

I was born at Elglin AFB and spent my high school years there. Spent many a time on them back roads of them bombing ranges there... Lots of space and land on that Military reservation. I mean LOTS!!!! I believe its the largest in the world.

Shame to waste such a pretty paint job on that thing just to blow it up.

to give ya a bit of a referance point, here is a pic of the "Old school" daisy cutter (BLU-82)

Oh and ... cphillip: All test Munitions get that nifty paint job, its to increase the visibility for the test footage. the operational version will have a drab paint job like the pic below with the same yellow stripe

                              C-131?

I looked this up since the designation was unfamilliar. There was a C-131, but the AF stopped flying them in the 70's. A pic of the plane doesn't look like it would be capable of carrying this weapon.

I guess its another case of the media blowing it when it comes to aircraft designations.

I wonder which plane they meant, C-130 or C-141...
