anything lower than 1600x1200x32 looks bloated and makes my eyes hurt now.

you're not alone syn. If my Trinitron went higher than 1600x1200, i'd be there. (I used to run 1280x1024 on a 15" monitor at work

)

Only the imaging machines get more than 1280. My monitor at home will do 1600x1200, but it's only a 17.
