Remember my new project? And what I was going to do with it? well I am nearing completion on this stage. Just wanted to share how this was going and get some pictures up.

I lact the DVD player which should be here Friday but I am ready for it. I am still sorting out the sound for it and need to install a FM Modulator for that as one option to play the sound. It already has IR cordless output for headphones built in and also has direct plug in head phone jacks but I need to pick up some head phones. But as mentioned it will have FM modulation to play through the stereo system on demand (Switch on dash).

Note that I ended up installing it just behind the center dome light. So its right over the rear of the front seats. About 3 feet or so away from the rear passengers faces. Its a 7 inchd screen with wide screen capability. I have tested it with a VCR and picture is great!

Edit-Looks like the flash caught the upper corner. Does view fine when its really sunny out?

This is all the hook ups waiting for the DVD player and the box you see on the right is Video and Audio inputs 2 and 3 for what ever you want to input. Game systems, Camera's etc. That boc also has power out put to the Game system or device with a cord not shown but you can access your power there too. All that wiring will be neatend up with a wire loom and such once the DVD player gets here so I can decide exactly where to locate it.

Seems great in sun. It has a back lighting auto adjust and in those pictures I have no input so its blank off screen so its hard to tell. Soon as I can I will get some of it with picture feeding into it.

Also nice thing is the relay I wired up when you turn the truck off it cuts itself off and motorizes itself back up closed and shuts off. Its a motorized screen. Not flip down.

One last one and I will update this when I can show you the DVD installed and a picture of it...Note the tiny light area where I trimmed the Bezel that needs a touch up of the paint. When I marked for trimming my marker ran over a little there and cleaning it up it removed some of the paint. So I need to touch that up.

Hey let me know how you like that punkt DVD! I've been toying with putting one in my car and it looks like a good bang for buck model. Sigh, too many projects not enough money....

Will do! Price is sure right on em and it was recomended to me by the guy who is advising me on the install. He has one and loves it so far. So I took his advice.

Are you planning on running the one big screen or are you gonna add another smaller one like on the dash or sunshade for the passenger?

As my vehicle has smaller spaces I was thinking 2 5" screens (one in the passenger sunshade, and one for the rear) and then ideally a larger one that is trunk mounted for movies and video games and stuff.

Does it block your rear view mirror? Nope!
