Some of you know that because of some circumstances, I traded my almost new car for an older sports car. I was able to get the stickers off the windows. I had to replace the windshield, new brakes, tune-up and other misc. stuff totaling about a grand to get it in this condition. I am waiting for warmer weather to remove the stickers on the body.

another pic...
and actually the pics do the car better justice than maybe deserves. The body panels on teh bottom of each side are broken, one side is sheetmetal screwed in, and is pretty obvious. teh front body piece (sorry gearheads, I don't know what these are called), is cracked and the rear lower "air-foil" body piece is split.
It's a nice ride, don't get me wrong, but it is old and has been abused (previous owner to JT).
think it would be worth being a "project" or should I drive it till it dies b4 getting something new for myself? - keeping in mind that I probably couldn't do much work myself.
Oh, and I don't have a cllue what's under the hood (mid-engine), matter of fact, I just learned how to open the hood to the engine!Last edited by RamboPreacher; 03-18-2003, 03:23 PM.Thanks, Brent "RamboPreacher" Hoefling, CPPA founder

Maybe you should change your name to RicePreacher. Looks good, but like you said, looks can be decieving. I'd say get a few quotes and see how things look from there. I like it, that's for sure.Comment

if you go to a junk yard you might be able to find the stock rocker panels for pretty cheap.
Yeah, its a 4 cylinder. You can tell by the spark wires. There's only four on that bank, and being that there is no second bank, and its a toyota, and a v8 would never fit, we can conclude that it is an inline 4 cylinder engine.
Looks like a nice little car. It'll handle really well if those are good tires, although judging by what else was done to the car, i'd bet that those are cheap tires on the rims.
If you're not doing work yourself, no, i would not consider any type of toyota a good "project" unless you are looking for some experience, but you stated you aren't doing it yourself so, no. Before someone who watches Fast and Furious says WHAT ABOUT THE SUPRA ITS A 'TOY', if he were to get a supra, and not do any of the work himself, it would not be worth the cost at all. so nananah.
If you want to get some nice shocks though, i bet that thing would handle great, and do some nice four wheel drifts, as opposed to my pickup's rear end drifts
My truck is louder than yours. A lot louder.

I would agree. It is rarly worth it to pay someone else to fix up a car. Let someone else do it and buy it from them at a discount.Originally posted by rhetor22

it was just screwed to the fiberglass on the body partOriginally posted by -Xugg-
Thats got to be the most ghetto front license plate. It looks like it was just bent and glued on to the body.

Is that an sw20 or sw21? I always thought that those two were the best looking MR2s ever.

[clip]i hear the insurence is pretty bad on those cars since its a 2 seater, how bad is it?
I suppose it would be much higher for a "younger" adult.
