    Air Cannons

Hey guys, im an avid air cannon builder and coniseur, i have built many cannons and have partialy constructed one for paintball usge. I will be using a 20 oz CO2 tank and a remote to fill the chamber, and i need to regulate the pressure down to close to a 100 psi. Could you put out some sugestions for a regulator to do so... thanks.

A vertical max flow will do the job fine, although they are pretty pricy they have a co2 filter and they are considered one of the best regs out there. I have one I can hook you up with if you PM me a price ... check Smart Parts' site and see their price before you offer though.

They make 125psi pop-valves that will release any air after the chamber is pressurized above 125psi.
      $10 a pop isn't to bad either.

You can use any kind of reg right? Well, maybe not... You need to be able to retrict the flow at a certian point right?

Just get a remote and a pro connect and one of those pop valves. Hook up the Co2 tank and turn it on. When the chamber is pressurized to 125psi the pop-valve will pop and you can turn off the tank. Then fire away. When you're done unhook the hose from the pro connect that way it will empty any extra air from the chamber and is an easy way to connect the tank.

I don't know if you can do it exactly like that. But something like that will let you pressurize the chamber and use the Co2 tank as the propellant. Not to mention cheaper than a maxflo. Good Luck hope this helps.

That seems, complicated... So while your at it...

Grab you a really old Classic MAg valve and run your hose so that the regulator lets the air fill the valve and it would kind of opperate like a gun...

the reg needs to be adjustable and connected to the fill chamber

                pure power-
the pop valve sounds intersting but not that reliable or trusted thanks though

Ok, I am jsut trowing some random ideas out there... What about maybe just use hairspray and a electric grill starter?

That sounds like fun... I need to try it...

not trying to down you or anything.... just so you know.
but there are several reasons i am not using a combustion cannon 1 they are much more dangerous 2 you need a perfect seal witch you cannot get with a paintball shot gun shell or just paintballs 3 you can use a direct air source on compressed air cannons and not constanly judge your accuracy of filling
i for one belive compressed air is the only way to go plus i have had bad experiances with combustion cannons
