I tended for a few years in a night club. Every day was a party. Went into to work at 3pm left at 3am. Made lots of money, spent lots of money. Had way too much fun.

I went to bartending school also. I thought it was a waste of time. You will learn more your first week on the job, than the school will teach you over the entire course.

Good for you...

I used to tend bar...great job at the right place. Most good bars hire from within and you have to work your way up. Good luck, going to the school won't hurt, but you will learn more on the job than anywhere else.

never tended bar, but i never see an unhappy bartender so it looks like a quality line of work. unless you hate drinking and picking up drunk chicks, then you might not like it.

I've been tending on and off since '99. Hell of a lot of fun. It's been a second job for me so it basically became my social life, and what a social life it was. I started as a glassie (bus boy?) at a nightclub, then bar at an Irish Pub and then at a real yuppy vodka bar. And now that I've bought a new car I'll be looking to do it all over again.

If anyone can hook me up with some resort work over your winter let me know.
