may have gotten ripped.. what to do

heres the situation, i was going through a sale with a guy on PBN who we will keep nameless at the moment. everything is set and ready to ship, it is confirmed that we will both ship usps priority. im pretty sure the date was tuesday the 11th, 2 weeks ago. so i sent out my money, and he supposedly sent out his tank. He recieved the money on the 15th, that saturday.. and i got nothing. so i asked him what the deal was. he reveals to me that he is doing this trade for a friend who is not allowed online alot and that he would contact him and see whats going on. he gets in touch with him, and he said that he was pressed for money, so he shipped parcel post with no tracking. this kind of ticked me off.. considering i asked him to ship priority. Around wednesday of the following week (one week has passed since the shipping date) i have nothing, and the "friend" comes online, the one who actually shipped the tank. so i bug him about it a bit and he gives me the same story as the other guy. he then comes online a few days later, and i am pretty pissed (if you dont mind me saying).. so i bug him about it alot.. heres the convo

he blocked me... and trust me, that was edited a whole lot.
now its saturday again.. still no tank, and the guy who set up this whole trade (seems respectable, cares about his reputation and feedback.. i kinda trust him)tells me he will check for a reciept from the guy who shipped, and he says that he has a reciept. so here i am.. 2 weeks later, pondering weather it REALLY takes that long for parcel post.. so does it? do i need to take action.. what action am i allowed to take?

Nothing should really take that long if he said he sent when he did. Either he's lieing and trying to buy time till he can ship, or he's trying to rip you. I'd try using a different screen name and ask him if he has a tank for sale and see what he says.

If nothing gets to you within one more week, I'd say come out with his name and address and see if anybody lives near him.

Tag him with mail fraud. I think someone had a similar problem awhile back and Tunaman gave the guy this whole run-down on what to do if you get screwed over(i.e. contacting the ripper's local police etc.)I'd PM Tunaman(don't bug him though, he's usually really busy), he'll know what to do. Good luck getting your stuff back!

Get his phone number or friends if you can. Scare the kid and piss off his parents. This has happened to me twice, I asked to talk to the kids parents both times. Both times the cash was at my doorstep in 2 days.

My other dream is to travel to one of these people who rip you off and knock on their door. Through in some police friends and they will be scared beyond belief.

the thing is.. i dont have his adress.. i only have the kid who "hooked us up"s adress...so if its not here within a week, ill get his adress.. call his parents ect ect. if that doesnt work.. then we will do the mail fraud thing.

Dude ALL shipping companies are a lot slower because of the war. I sent a package usps priority and it didn't get there for 2 weeks, I sent a package fedex groudn 3-5 and it took 2 weeks. I bought an eggy 2 2 weeks ago, still hasn't came. Don't WORRY.

It does sound like you are being very unreasonable, I feel no pity for you because you were being an a-hole.

That makes me feel a lot better. I'm in a similar situation as Espo and the shipment is going on over a week. I would like to know the procedure how to get my money back, if the case so calls for it. Good luck with your tank.

ive gotten 4 priority and ground packages within 3-4 days, shipping hasent slowed down, you just had to deal with morons at the UPS / usps places

i highly recommend that you either send him a warning letter saying that you will file for mail fraud if you don't recieve some kind of comepensation (the actual tank, or money or confirmation of sending)

or use www.whitepages.com and call him up and tell him personally

Before I had a digicam I did a lot of trading here, and I got really pissed off when someone flipped out because the shipping company was late and I couldn't show them I shipped it out. I feel no pity for espo and I think that he was being an *******.

And you missed a tourney cause your tank didn't get here? I think that's bull. You already had a tank before, so how is this any different. If you know you have a tourney, don't buy anything new or sell anything till after the tourney.

I seriously don't feel bad for you, I would love to see you whine and complain to this guy, get the police involved, than the next day the tank shows up on your doorstep, perfectly packaged and he even threw in some extras like a tank cover and such.

Blaze.. id like to let you know that i recieved the tank today.. in need of a new guage, new nipple, new burst disc, and the hydro date was also lied about.. and its a week and a half late. also.. where did you get the idea that i had another tank? sure.. i had another tank.. like 3 months ago, when i owned my mag.
