So get this, my school decided that the roads were to snowy for the busses to drive on.(We got 6-7 feet of snow last week) Most of the roads are only one lane, and very slick. So what do they decide to do? They cancelled our bus services yet still expect everyone to be there on time, and find there own way home as well! This poses a small problem for me seeing how i'm a sophomore and you're not allowed to drive to school until you're a Junior or Senior. I personally think this is outragous that they expect freshmen and sophmores to find rides to school when both of their parents work full time jobs, and no one lives close enough to give rides due to the mountain neighborhoods. Man does this suck!
Cancel school? nah...we'll just cancel bus service!

Thats probably one of the dumbest school things ive ever heard. Dont go to school, what can they say? If they say they will fail you, say you have no means of getting to school. If they say find a ride, say your parents have full time jobs. If you drag it out they will most likely see that they are stupid or it will go into court. So just dont go

not going is a good possibility right now. However missing school on a block schedule is pretty rough because you miss a lot of work that takes a week or two to make up. Another possibility is to just drive there and risk a $20 ticket(I do have my license, but campus security likes to give fines). So we'll see how this plays out...Comment

Sounds like my school. The number of fights per given time has slowly gone up and our resource officers are already spread way too thin(3 officers for 8 buildings, 1800 students, and 20 some odd acres). Most fights last between 2 and 5 minutes because response time is so delayed. Many fights become quit violent and usually end in court and juvi for someone. So what is the city doing? cutting funding for the officers and requiring one be forced into early retirement. I'm glad to see our school system is concerned with our safety.Comment

Not to highjack your thread, but your lucky to have a parking lot at your school. There was none in my highschool. Anyone 16 and up can drive at my school. Parking is on the streets around the school. Faculty can park on the school private street. It's between the classrooms and the tennis courts. Below is the aerial photo of my old high school. Now imagine 4000+ students walking in the rain or heat. Since my graduation in 93, the school tore down the bungalows and built 2 three story buildings. With your problem, yeah that sucks! School administration do have some strange idea's.Comment

call the principle and yell at him. And if you think yelling at him won't get anything useful done, you're wrong. Yell your heart out. I would. That is outrageous.
