I doubt a 502 would FIT in that car, let alone come anywhere NEAR passing emissions. It's spelled "bore", and if you were buying a new crate motor it'd come brand new pistons. Stick or manual? Last I checked there was no difference. Don't talk the talk if you have no clue what it means.

      What's the insurance?

Or are you guys "cheating" and telling the insurance company your mom is the primary driver?

Here's a tip: Don't modify your car... save your money for more important things.

Wait until you're out of school, have a real job... and then buy toys.

            correction!

or correct me if I'm wrong. A new 502 would not even be a Ford. It would be a GM engine. A 502 Tonowanda. Called a Tonowanda because of where it is manufactured. Tonowanda, NY. ....But maybe I'm wrong?????

Yeah thats what we are doing, although it still is very high...

As far as modifying the car, I'm not really planning on it (i'm broke right now). The only thing I might do is put in a decent sound system. I'm not touching the engine, if I wanted a fast car I would have bought a fast car..

flambo, yeah i noticed i said allthe stuff wrong after i got hme that nite, i think you could cram it in there if you really wanted to, i mean you would have to do some major frame/body mods to it, to fit i think, and if i were doing that to a car it would be for straight up dragracing. sorry if i offended you in any way.

also... there's no point to boring over a brand new crate engine... people think it's gunna give them a huge displacement increase... more like 2ci. You bore an old tired block, then throw new pistons in it.

On the topic of wedging the wrong size engines in there... i would go with a built 460. cheap, easy to find, and holy crap the power... oh man. It's all low end though. But its makin 410ft.lbs at 2100rpm i believe, stock. If you can get 410ft.lbs at 5000rpm... well lets see... (410x5000)/5252 = 390hp! vroom!

                              lol, no problem

And actually while my parents did buy this car for me, it came from my savings account. Back when my mom and dad started my savings account for college etc. they set aside an X amount of dollars for my first car. Oh yeah and my mom went to back work (has stayed at home for the past 4-5 years and went to college and been a mom and stuff) so that also allowed my budget to go up a good bit.

Also I'm not about modifying the engine. For starters I probably have just enough money to take my girlfriend out this weekend and then I'm broke . Secondly I can't have anything that goes fast because the damn insurance will cost more than the car!!! Like I said before if I wanted a fast car I would have bought a fast car.

On another note - On my fathers side of the family I have 5 cousins, all of them except one drives sometype of Mustang! One of them has this sweet cobra and thing will haul.
