    EXTREMELY rich kids....

    Well I was just thinking.

Do any of you guys have any extremely filthy rich friends?

My friend got an Acura NSX for his first car.

His life is basically planned out for him. When hes 21 he will take over his dads multi-million dollar company.

NSX's are 60-90 thou dollar cars, BTW

...I actaully would hate to have my life planned out for me already though

I'm not actually close friends with anybody like that... my friend's homecoming date last year is semi-rich, she was complaining about some like $10,000+ watch she got for her birthday because she didn't like the band, she got a brand new car and SOLD it just for the hell of it, she got an angel and gave it to her brother, etc...

And yeah, having the whole "life-set-out-in-front-of-you" thing could really suck major arse.

          so would I.

there's a LOT more satisfaction in "making it" on your own.

especially if you've busted your butt in doing so.

I'd rather weld my way to success than inherit it. But if fate, family, and a little luck brings me success, I'll be all the happier. But I would be way happier if I truely worked for it.

On to the subject, I had a tentmate at camp a few years back who was spoiled to the core. While I hiked with a worn out, dirty, well used kelty backpack, he was using a customized Gregory technical mountaineering backpack complete with water bladder. Despite his technical advantage, he complained that it was not only uncomfortable, but also not good enough and did not have enough features. I still carried the tent, the food, and the stove/fuel, so he had a very light load.

I also met a guy paintballing who was quite simply, the most wasteful use of carbon and water that has exsisted. Not only was he worthless for any kind of labor, such as grabbing a pod for you, or holding the door while we brought in Co2 cylinders, he also complained about his equipment more than a liberal complains about people having fun. It was either his gun was too heavy, his goggles were too foggy, or his jersey was too hot. I about ended his 20/20 vision when he complained the reffing was poor(I being a ref).
Needless to say, rich people are cool. Rich people who are stupid and a waste are not.

My parents gave me a car when I first started driving in '91. It was a '78 Olds Cutlass Supreme that they'd bought new way back when. It wasn't much to look at, but I loved that car anyway. Too bad I totaled it in '92.

Hey, i'd love to be given loads of money on a daily basis!

Sure there's satisfaction in working for your own money, and i should know.

I'm 16 years old, a junior in highschool, and i work 4 hours a day after school monday and tuesday doing construction, and 4 hours a day after school wednesday, thursday and friday in a supermarket. You know what i do on Saturday? I work construction! and what do i do sunday? 9am-2pm i work in a supermarket, and work construction after that for a few hours till the sun goes down! WOOHOO!

And you think i'd rather be doing this than be getting a car and money from my parents so i could spend time doing school work and hanging out with my friends? OF COURSE NOT!

I bought my own truck, pay my own insurance, and gas money (10.5mpg hells yes) and pay for lunch each day. Guess what? working 7 days a week, i can only afford to eat lunch 3 out of 5 days of school! How sweet is that?

Don't get mad at the person who's parents can afford to, and do give them a car, money to live on, and other things while they're in highschool. If i were a parent, and i had the money, i would without a doubt give my kid a car, pay for his insurance, and lunch money. I wouldn't pay for gas, and i wouldn't buy him crap just because he wanted it though.

                  ARGH!!!

My truck is louder than yours. A lot louder.

yea i know some kids like that. Like my one friend is getting a brand new Nissan 350z or a RX-8 for his first car! And ontop of that, his dad is buying a Porche of a BMW m5! Another friend of mine just got a brand new passat and his dad is looking at getting a Shelby GT500 or a Porche Cayyene.

i wouldnt mind having my life planned out, cause im lazy

omg... nsx is like my dream car...

That makes me depressed... lucky guy

hehe but its kinda funny cause my friends and neighborhood, are extremely poor.

They call me rich because I have a civic, all the game systems (xbox, gamecube, ps2) and I always have benjamins in the wallet.

                          I'm rich

That's the way the world turns, man. There's always a rich kid in every crowd... so what? You're a "rich kid" compared to some poor child in Taiwan working for slave-wages just so he can help put food on the table. There's more to life than possessions... yeah, some have it better than others, but, that's the way life is.
