    What historical person?

What historical person do you think that your ideas fall more into line with, or you see yourself as? Please explain.

I will give mine when some have already posted.

      Thomas Jefferson/Thomas Paine.

Both dedicated their lives, fortunes, reputations, and risked their family's lives by standing up and fighting for freedom from an oppressive tyrant. I too, have no qualms or hesitation about taking up arms and laying my life on the line in defense of my country, and your freedoms.

Some people do not appreciate that they live in the ONE country that gives them practically unlimited freedoms to do and say what they feel about the government. They choose to remain ignorant on how the USA works, but are more than knowledgable about how to protest against what decisions the government makes. What is most ironic, is that better than 90% of the current "protesters"(DNC statistics, not mine), are NOT registered voters, yet are the most vocal against what they didn't bother to vote for/against in the first place...but will I fight for them too, because that is what I do, and who I am.

        I can't wait

I'm not sure if I could nail down one person as someone who I think my ideas always fall in line with. But I have to say I Ronald Reagan is near the top.

It is hard to narrow it down to one person.

I would have to say for me it would be T.E. Lawrence (The man not the legend)

As for why, can't really say much. But I find my self more like him ever time I study something about him.

The USA is the only place with these freedoms?

I would actually have a hard time finding anyone with similar views, but lately I have been reading about Bertrand Russel (I guess he could be considered historic in a philosophical sense...) and really admire his thought: especially after just finishing his "The Conquest of Happiness."

                  Jesus Christ.
He has some great lessons about life. He stood up to the religious elite of his time. He is the most unselfish person I know.

And he has a cool dad.

My name is Russell Bertrand, really!

Me, I always was a fan of Sgt Alvin York. A simple man, who showed amazing courage in the face of terrible odds. I know very little of his life, though, other than his exploits of WWI.

I need to more reading on him but....

I'll be starting my life much like Sir Arthur Currie did. He grew up outside Vancouver, and joined an army reserve unit as a lowly gunner, and worked his way all the way up to Commander of all four Canadian Divisions in France in World War One. I highly doubt most people have heard of him, but he was extremely ingenuitive in a time where frontal attacks reigned. He was frequently given suicidal missions by British High Command (ie Passchendaele) yet he always found a new way to do things, and saved many lives in the process. (he founded the modern day platoon system, I believe, or someone under him in the 4th Div did)

also, he was a real estate agent before the war, and one ofmy parents is

I think I fall in line with my grandfather. He isn't very famous. He didn't get his face on time magazine, but he was part of history. He has patents on a number of devices that were instrumental in the success of WW2, mainly with the Manhattan Project. He worked at Y-12 in OakRidge, Tennessee.
He is very self reliant. If one day the world moved, and he missed the bus(which he wouldn't do), he would still survive here on Earth by himself. He has a garden that supplies him with food for the summer and winter. He goes to the farmers market to buy anything else he needs. When my grandmother died, he took care of everything. He didn't wallow for a day or two, he went out and got everything taken care of. He put 5 kids through college(including 2 going to Duke, 2 to UT, and another to UNC). He recently remarried at age 82 and even carried his new bride across the threshhold. Politically, he has no stance. He has his beliefs and his ideas, and if a candidate just so happens t support the better part of them, he supports them, whether they be democrat, republican, communist, facists, whatever. At 84 now, he still keeps up with his 6 grandsons, all of us are teenagers. His new granddaughter is only a few months old and he loves her so much. A few years back, when my late grandmother was still with us, they went on a hike at Norris Dam and unfortunatey, she broke her leg. He carried her 2 miles to the trailhead.

He is an amazing human being and I believe I am much like him. It's a honor to even try and emulate him.

Ben Franklin. Patriot, believed wholeheartedly in the goodness of man, crafty, and had a silver tongue . Another one would be Shakespeare; I havent read his stuff in a long time, but you just HAVE to admire a man who makes fun of the Crown right under their noses!
