As a history major i know what war has won and what it has done, the goal of any just nation should be to wage war only when the cost of not will harm more people than the war itself will. Now with that i believe we fought the second world war justly, the first should never have happened (squabeling amoung monarchs and whatnot) and our roll in that was to help end it, also just. Vietnam (yes im skipping a few) unjust, fought so a few men in power could make a quick buck and because we had/have the fool hearted notion that our goverment system is the only one that can be fair. first gulf war is some where in the middle for me...i think time will give better perspective as to its rightiousness or lack there of. but this war is only for OIL, and that makes it wrong. there are places in the world where people are oppressed far more than Iraq or just as much, but those oil poor countries do not attract any such attention from Bush. There are other countries that support terrorism far more than Iraq, our friends in Pakistan for example but for diplomatic reasons we do not attach. We Helped Saddam, we armed him, we sold him the stock to produce the "weapones of mass destruction" (as if our smart bombs are weapones of love and peace, more like assination and "accepteble civilan losses") but now we attach our little dog of war because he has (for the last 15 years) bitten the hand that fed him, and we think, like a rabid dog, we can just put him down and the arab nations will accept it. so yes i stand for american troops, but aginst this war. Next time you fule up your car/truck/whatever understand that iraqi's died and AMERICAN's died so your gasoline could be priced lower than that of gasoline in europe. oh yeah not to mention the goverment contracts going to companies owned/ allied/ supporting/ stock held by our NOBLE president/ vice president. THis goverment it ment to repersent you people, NOT CONTROL you, ment to make like fair and equal for all, NOT KILL THOSE FAR AWAY FOR THE PROFIT OF A FEW ON TOP lord wake up, Jesus was not a hippy, but he was a pacifist and anyone to dissagree with that needs to read a bible....yeah im spent

For a history major thats sure thick headed. This wasr is not about the Oil, If bush wanted oil he would have approved anwar COMPLETLEY instead of leaving it up for quabble. (i am from alaska anwar was gonna make everyone alot of money). This is about terorism, who cares if pakistan supports terrorists if they don't have the means to do any harm. that would be like beating up a 13 year old who threatens you and leaving the 35 year old who threatens people, with "world war III" in his garage alone. and you said yourself that war should be fought when the damage is greater if its not. how many people die a day in Iraq? what happens if one of his "weapons" comes our way. ya its a "what if" but its a very probable one. on september tenth 2001 if the government retained all those involved with the WTC tradgedy, would you have been "but they did nothing wrong, let them go" I thonk you would. and then BOOM september 11th happens. We knew alqueda was a threat bet we sat by even AFTER osama declared war on the US. Look what happened. I am glad we are not just waiting for Saddam who has the ways and the means of causing "mass destruction" in the US to do just that.
