If PS1 vs N64 taught us nothing, its that better graphics don't mean squat if all the good games are on the less powerful system.

Sony just has better game support. Sports, RPGs, action, racing, you name it, and it has better games than the other platforms.

Thats my story and Im sticking to it..

By the way, did I mention I own Dreamcast? haha

Microsoft is much bigger than Sony. And X-box has been Bill Gates's baby for a while. It will get big game companies. Microsoft has too much money for them not to. The only real question is whether X-box will have problems. If it doesn't then Sony is big trouble because X-box will be much better.

PS2

Okay, I have a PS2 and love it. They already have a ton of games out and most high quality games too. As far as the DVD player goes, I think it works good. I didn't like the controller for the DVD's so I bought a remote for it and they work great. Its easy to use, and its even better with surround sound (altough as is for any DVD player). I think the PS2 will deffinately defeat game cube with no problem, however it might have a struggle with the Xbox. Xbox does have master mind bill gates behind the scene who can work wonders, but sony does have more company's making high quality games, but who's to say microsoft wont have the same with the Xbox? As for right now, i would say go for PS2, we'll just have to wait and see how the Xbox turns out.

Well, i think we all know that the game cube is going right into the trash. No one cares about it and Nintendo is going the way of the dreamcast.

I think i might wait until after Christmas just to see what the opinions are. Plus the price might drop a bit...???

Microsoft may have exclusive game producers that were bought away from ps2 but some of the X-box games aren't that good looking. The pre release X-boxs had bugs all over them. 8 out of 10 crashed. It was around 8, maybe 7 or 9, I can't remember.

I say Playstaion II because it's going to stick around with style. There will always be games coming out for it, it won't die in a year like alot of systems. It plays DVD's, doesn't beat the super duper Sony Player under the big screen, lol, but it doesn play em. Playstaion always has all the good games. I find that Nintendo has too many kiddie games and no good fighting, gore, etc. games.

Something tells me XBOX is going to be pretty good because Billy's running the show (Well not exactly, he's probably working on something more important). But you can't beat the reputation of Playstaion.

I am getting a Playstaion 2 for Christmas because I like it alot. There is already enough good games out for it now, like some amazing sequels: Grand Theft Auto 3, Twisted Metal:Black, and all those good games.

But XBOX is going to be rich. So it's going to be cheap. That's my opinion on the price, because Bill Gates probably doesn't really care if he makes any money, probably enough to pay the people who made the thing and cover the materials and stuff.

Playstation 2 will win overall...IMO.

PS2

for one, i really like the ps2 controller, and the xbox controller doesnt look that comfortable. Also, while i agree the quality of the release games weren't to good for ps2, programmers have mastered the aparently difficult learning curve of building ps2 games, and like footemps said, some really good gen. 2 games for ps2 are coming out, gta3, mgs2.
btw, the dvd player on mine has worked fine, and the controller isn't that annoying unless you normally use the remote a lot (which i don't) re: dvd remotes for ps2, http://www.ps2.ign.com has some reviews on most of them (go to the left side of the page, and click on "hardware") and lots of other resources. i've never been to, but would reccomend going to, based on my experience w/ ps2@ign, the xbox section of ign, im pretty sure it's http://www.xbox.ign.com

in conclusion, i like my ps2 and reccomend it, considering it's already extensive game library, plus that of ps1. i hope it will beat xbox, but when most of my friends get it, ill try it w/ an open mind.

The x-box controller is practically a dc controller with different labeled buttons, a green plastic gem in the middle, changed anolog positions, and more curved.

the thing i like about the playstation, is that they try to stay somewhat consistant. Such as allowing original games to be played on the new system, plus uses the same type of controllers.

yea - some reviewers didnt like it for that fact, but i like it, and thats why i dont listen to reviewers, why mess w/ success. ex. the critics hated psycho:3 (hmmm...bad example)
