helpp me with my hl mods

ok i got Ns and i need it to work with opengl to see the menus and such, i load (many games with opengl) and i get very slow connection times where it will get to the point where i will not beable to connect to teh server, and if i do it takes 5 or mins to get in the game(once i get in i have a little higher ping but nothing major) so is there some opengl update or anyway i can get it to run faster?

i havent been able to connect to a NS server with opengl or direct3d yet only software

NS is a pretty high graphic and hi poly mod, you sound like you need a better computer or parts, sorry

Your graphics card probably doesnt run well with Open GL. There is a driver pack you can install, but thats hardly ever done anything for me with MANY different kinds of cards.

There are times where you can call me a postwhore, but how about when im actually doing it?

opengl wont effect your ping, that is soley connection, if you can check your FPS thats what would cause "lag" or chopy gameplay, give me a linkt to NS, ill d/l it and see what i can do.

give me exactly what the game does / messages it gives you.

well falcon you could have said that instead of basically get a new comp the first time you replied, ns is natural selection www.natural-selection.org basically ill wait like 5-10minutes then it stops and says could not complete connection it wouldnt be a problem if the menu bar worked in software

Hey Big D...I had a friend who had the same problem as you. Just find out the IP address and use the "connect" command in the console. Hopefully that'll do the trick.

well atleast yours runs opengl my used to be able to until i reformatted my harddrive(darn xp i think it is)

I said that it LOOKS like there is nothing you can do, except get some better computer parts (videocard). Since I have no idea about the specs of your computer, that didnt help with the amount of usefullness I could provide. If your computer is slow with OpenGL, thats just it, your computer cant handle it. The one thing you could try is download your video card drivers and opengl crap, but that usually does not work. Its usually a very simple thing; some videocards can handle openGL, and others just cant
