    NFL Draft April 26 & 27, 2003

As an avid Bears fan (And since my wife's a Packer fan ), I'm really looking forward to this weekends draft.

I just learned that the Bears traded the #4 pick to the Jets for the #13 and #22 pick in the first round plus an additional conditional pick. This give's the Bears 3 picks in the top 35 draft choices!

Before the trade, the Bears were talking about taking a QB like Chris Simms or Dave Ragone with the 4th pick in the 2nd round. Now with the Jet's trade, they can grab one at 22 in the 1st. Wonder who it'll be? Maybe Rex Grossman or Kyle Boller. Hmm....

Ok ok, I really need to layoff the caffine.

Boller will be gone by then, most likely to the Ravens (unless Leftwich is available). Good move on the Bears part, because they probably hadn't even decided who they wanted to draft with that 4th pick. I don't understand why the Jets did it though, both big play receivers will probably be gone by then is my guess (Rogers to Lions, Johnson to the Texans).

I'm a Falcons fan, and we only have one pick tomorrow in the 2nd rd. But hey, we got Peerless Price for our first rounder, so I'm not complaining.

Heh, the first round alone lasts like a bajillion hours. Don't make your body parts go to sleep.

Yea, picking up Price was huge for Atlanta. But I'm suprised that they resigned Finneran too. Although he was their leading receiver last year, he's just too slow to be a effective starter. Maybe Shawn Jefferson will make a bigger impact this year? Or maybe Atlanta will sign another WR after the cuts on 6/1? Hmm....

I'm expecting Jacksonville to take Leftwich at #8 but I wouldnt be suprised to see Baltimore trade up out of the 10 spot to get him. They desperately need a QB since Chris Redman can't get the job done and they lost Jeff Blake to Arizona. Leftwich would be a good fit in Baltimore.

'Bout the Jets, I think that they traded up to get Dewayne Robertson from Kentucky. They need a lot of help at DT since they gave up a lot of rushing yards last year. They signed Curtis Conway to take the place of Lavernus Coles, and still have Santana Moss (who is coming into his 3rd year) and Wayne Crebet. I think they're doing fairly well at WR.

Now, I'll just have to wait and see what Chicago does with the 22nd pick. All I have to say is that none of the first three picks better be busts! We don't need another Enis or McNown. Geez...
