Stupid traffic law

On my way back from the other side of the city I passed a cop, who was going 45 in a 55, I was doing 55. As I passed him by I turned my signal on and merged back into the lane. He turned his lights on and pulled me over. He gave me a 100 dollar ticket for failing to honk my horn before I merged into the lane. I sat their and tried not to laugh. The cop actually sat there and said; yes I know that not many people know of this law. But since it is a law, I have to enforce it.

I mean is this just Alabama, or is this law in other states too. And is there anything I can do to stop from having to pay this 100 dollar fine on a stupid archaic law.

try and find out as much as you can about the law.

im sure its very old and applied to a time where it was necessary that you need to honk before merging to a lane.

in todays society, im very sure that it is not necessary with the advancement of vehicle signals.

also, when appealing this, ask the office when the last time he gave a ticket like this.

also, ask him how many radios he has inside his vehicle...

after all, its possible that you honked, he just didnt hear it because of the radios in his vehicle.

how much is a driving class?? i would take it if you can't fight the ticket.....i got $150 speeding ticket only payed $101 for the driving class saved 49bucks
