Scuba tank / fill station question

I am looking into getting a scuba tank so I can fill my tanks at my local rec field. I have a question though. Is ther a certain type of scuba valve that is needed to be able to use a fill station, or will any scuba valve work?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

J or K work fine for the fill stations I've seen, but the instructions you get with the fill station should tell you specifically which ones to use.

All "scuba" tanks take the same kind of adapt. whether there "k" or "j" but not all breathing air tanks are the same.

        Yoke or DIN

NA tanks are mostly Yoke style (or A-clamp I think).

Europe uses DIN adapters, which just kind of screws in. You can get higher pressure tanks tho.

The valve is a seperate item -
The J valve is a manual reserve, for when they didn't have submersible gagues. It got harder to breathe when it was low on air and you had to toggle a lever to release the rest of the air.

The K valve has no manual reserve. So you had to guess how much air you had, or you have a SPG.

I don't think it matters if you get a J or K valve (you won't be trying to fill your tank when the Scuba tank is below 500psi). As long as you get a Yoke adapter, you should be good...assuming you're in North America of course.
