I picked up a used Bar Single Tower kegorator for $300 and it had the 20 pound CO2 cylinder and regulator and all the plumbing and a single tap on it with SS top and drain and all the stuff you need. Good deal if you can find one. And you can pick up a cleaning kit at a beer supply place or even one online for about $20 that has the tap wrench and brushes and stuff you need to keep it maintained.

Then you can start collecting tap handles. That in itself is fun. Many cool ones out there.

Check localy for used Restraunt Supply sales.

When you get the CO2 tank filled go to your local welding shop and they all carry "Beverage CO". Its a little cleaner if you ask for that and no aftertaste. You want that type. A 20 pound tank will last you for a LONG time. I should say 20 or more kegs. And its about 10 - 15 bucks to fill it.

I had a keg sitting around for several years that was my brothers.

Anyway, as the beer ferments in the keg it will build up pressure, and it of course rots and becomes VERY VERY GROSS!

I used to have an endless supply of fun convincing unwitting friends to press down on the little silver ball that's the valve on top of the keg. As soon as they did.... moldy beer shower!!

I only got a couple of guys to do it, but it was well worth the laugh when they did!
            Thanks,
            Goldie
