Misfits Fans help me out

I'm a big fan of punk and metal, and it occured to me that the Misfits are an untapped source of good punk that I've yet to get into. Here's the thing though. I like hard metal and punk, and the Misfits are considerably softer by todays standards.

So, please give me a few song titles that are a little harder. I know none of it is thrash metal, but a few of their songs (maybe more I dont know) really rock for their time. "Dig up her bones", and "Last Caress" are good examples. Anything that has a good hard continuous guitar riff. So come on Misfits fans! There's got to be a few of your favorites that get you really pumped. Thanks guys.

Well, "Skulls" isn't exactly hard, but it gets my blood boiling! "We Are 138" has a good, steady intro that rips into a nice, fast riff.

While I agree with you on this with their recorded music (and what the hell was up with the mix on Famous Monsters? It sounds terrible)... you need to catch them live. I don't think you'll ever use the word "softer" when refering to the Misfits again.

It's got pretty much every original recording with the exception of Walk Among Us (They couldn't get the rights for some reason... but you can still buy WAU since it's still in print anyway).

i love the misfits,a nd i think all of their stuff is really good and hard, sure there are a fewer slower songs, but they still rock. just get whatever u can get your hands on.

Other bands to listen to if you don't already.... Exploited, Casualties and Dead Kennedys, all are good.

And look for Pipedown and Thought Riot, they're great but I don't know how big they are right now. Check em out though.

Yeah, you really have to see them live to apreciate how hard they really are, especially Danzig. I saw him live last summer and it was one of the best show's I've seen. If you want to hear a good cover of "She" then search for that title under the Murder City Devils, I think it's almost better than the original.

The "new" Misfits are definitely harder than the original line up. Michael Graves is decent on the vocals, but please, don't anyone even compare him to Danzig! Actually, you can't even compare the two bands. They are very different musically. I haven't picked up the "Famous Monsters" CD, but I do have "American Psyco" and I really dig the song "Walk Among Us"--it kicks sphincter!
