Moratorium On Political Threads...

Say what you will, flame all you want, but I think it's time we put a halt to the political threads for a while.

While I agree that political discourse can be a good thing, there appears to be only one individual that thinks he is the sole and ruling authority on political and world history. Time and again he spouts his rhetoric without supplying that which he demands of us. PROOF.

I enjoy coming to AO to catch up on the latest goings on, but I'm tired of being subjected to his constant barrage of, "I'm right and You're wrong."

I leave this in the hands of our Mods.

This could have easily been dealt with in a PM to a mod or in a thread report.

And I am sure if any unbiased mod would read it he will see that the blame for the whole thread not lies with one person but everyone in it. They will also see that what you have just wrote is unfounded, unbased and a total lie.

The problem seems to be caused more by the hi-jacking that regularly occurs.

Seems some people think they are more right if they can distort their opinions to fit into as many conversations as possible (an odd goal indeed).

Let me just say, that flat out political threads are not allowed (Dems Vs Repubs etc.). But we will consider, and watch carefully, HISTORICAL DISCUSSION threads that happen to go political. As long as everyone keeps it mature, civil, and sane, we will allow it to go on with some trepidation.

As you know, the first stupid thing happens, we will delete the whole thing with no explanation.

Magman & CB... That's why I put this out in the forum. To get input and allow others who might feel the same way to express their thoughts, so that you, CB, couldn't accuse me or anyone else of being underhanded.

When you talk about one thing to understand its historical implications you have to bring up more things. It is this bringing up of more things that causes people to debate those more things, and in that debate you have t brig up more things that are needed to debate the first more things and so forth.
