Kids that small should sit in the back seat anyway. I don't agree with the booster seat thing, 4'6" is pretty big to be sitting in a booster seat. Also anyone that is driving, and is that short would be killed by an air bag for sure. I fail to see how a booster seat would help a short driver. (If someone 4'6" could actully reach the pedals with a booster, or see over the dash without one)
Normally there is a light transmission part to window tint laws. Some aftermarket tints don't tansmitt enough light, makeing them a hazard when driving at night. While most factory tints, are dark but still allow enough light to be transmitted. Giving good night time visibility. Of course Limo's are a completly different story. In oregon the police need a search warrent to search the section behind the driver of a limo. So they can be tinted as dark as they want, or blacked out entirely. Baseically you can do anything you want in the back of a limo.LX RT-Pro, No Rise, 16 Inch Boomy, 12v Revvy, 68/3k Flatline

Sorry, but I don't see a problem with any of those laws. Kids should be in booster sits. The dog thing might also be to protect people from dogs. What's to stop a dog from jumping out when the car is stopped and bitting someone?
They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

i can remember a time when we never wore seatbelts. now i feel paranoid to back down my driveway without mine on. with all the federal money they are missing out on im suprised nh hasnt enacted a seatbelt law by now.
and yes 4'6" is a tad tall for a booster seat. and nothing on the road angers me more than seeing a dog in the bed of a truck, so kudos of nh for that law.Comment

That's a really good point! In Hawaii, all children under the age of 6 or under a certain weight need to be in a carseat. Seatbelts are required for everyone sitting in the front, and children under the age of 18 sitting in the back. But, none of the public buses or school buses provide seatsbelts. If you ride a public bus, children under the age of 6 ride free, but if there aren't enough seats for everyone, the non-paying child has to sit on the adults lap which can be dangerous and isn't allowed in private vehicles. I think, at a MINIMUM, seatbelts should be provided on school buses and the law regarding wearing them should apply. The bus driver is required to wear one so why shouldn't the passengers be provided with the same safety?Originally posted by shartley
Also, the law doesn't require ppl to wear helmets when on a motorcycle, but is required when riding a bicycle if under the age of 18.

Here's a link I found with stupid laws.

Haha, that's funny. Seattle is doing anything it can at this point to try and make up the money they've lost in this budget crisis. Like they spent thousands of dollars putting in parking meters a few streets by my school and so rather than people actually parking there they just park in the private lots. Or even better the other day when I was walking to the north campus at the Art Institute a cop was writing a few of these homeless people loitering tickets. I mean, crap it's not like they actually have money to pay them. The time the cop spent hastling these guys he could have just told them to move along and then went off to hastle some of the VW drivers about having euro plates on their cars along with their American onesOriginally posted by Johnny_Reb

Yea!
Quit making new laws and quit spending the money it takes to make all these new laws. Enforce the ones we already have! We voted in some of these Jackasses to represent us, not to make laws. They should make them take a salary cut for every new law they create.

I got a plan!
Bwahahahaha!
Memo to self. Lower seat in Sister-In-Law's ML320. Send her to NH. Narc her out. Wait for police to pull her over and measure her (she is 4'11"). Laugh like hell. Even for Satan's surgical strike on my vacation last year!
I love taking advantage of new and innovative laws!

Would they actually pull you over and measure you? Would a police officer pull you over, pull some measuring tape out of his pocket and see if your over 4'6

And yes, that is quite an interesting statute that they are proposing. NJ law states what Govnamac has already said: A child saftey seat must be used when the child is under the age of 8 AND less than 80 lbs. and it must be secured in a back seat of the passenger compartment. There are of course a list of exceptions. Maybe New Hampshire should call up our state legislature and ask them to borrow a copy of our vastly superior Safety Belt Statutes.
