The bad part is... they start camping out near places easy to ticket people for minor things... instead of looking out for bad guys and doing constructive things.

lol my brother has my stang for the wek while his blazer is in the shop and guess what? day 34 he got pulled OVER!!! I was laughing so hard. That car attrackts cops like poop does flies. I have a friend that just got through the accademy. Becomeing a cop has made him so shallow we've only talked once since he started the accademy. Before that he was working for the county jail in downtown Des Moines but then he was at least tolerable Cops have their place .. but they never seem to be there. They pull over car with one of 6 tail light bulbs out

parking tickets sucks ive gotten 2 at school and haven't payed them and don't think i will because it just a parking ticket and it was for parking on the grass.

I always leave handicapped spots open although i will block dumpsters park on grass/curbs and other stuff that doesnt matter but blocking a hydrant i wont do

I believe SprayingMango is correct when we states, "If you are friendly and cooperative, the cop will be happy to reciprocate the kindness," but only with respect to police officers and sheriffs. If you are pulled over by a C.H.P., you're screwed no matter how nice you act. I have a great deal of respect for cops in general, but when they start writing tickets for BS stuff (68 mph speeding ticket on the freeway, etc.) just to try to prove something and then act like a**h**** about it (I've actually had a cop tell me "Tough $#1+." after I complained to him for writing me up for being in a parking spot 1 min later than was allowed. He seemed quite pleased with himself for having brought a wreckless lawbreaker as myself to justice), I lose any and all respect for said cop.

I wasn't blocking the hydrant. I was about 10 to 12 feet away.

I'm fine with handicapped spaces, but hate the able-bodied people with stickers.

What really ticks me off are those "baby carriage" spaces I see when I'm in the suburbs. First they bring those noisy, slobbering, germ bags in SUV-like strollers. Now they are taking the choice spaces next to the handicap spots.

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

oh it thoght you were blocking it hell 10-12 feet that sucks there is something called a hose the fireman have plenty of it i think making them park there truck 6 feet out shouldnt be a problem since the hydrant cant move any way. Maybe its just they dont want to have to double park you incase of a fire

I've never seen a fire truck "pull up to" a hydrant. They park their rigs right in the middle of the street. Don't you think 20'to 24'is plenty of space to hook up their hoses.

I think it was an episode of the Third Watch. A car was parked at a hydrant and they broke both side windows and ran a leaky hose through the car. When the car owner finally got to his car it was full of water.

I've definltey seen a guy that got his windows busted out so they can get to the hydrant. I thought it was funny as hell. He got all pissed, but it was his own fault. That's why they have the long yellow curb surrounding the hydrant. Don't block it, it's your car.
