    Question about getting you IP banned

    I have a quick question. If I went on the internet from say a computer in my living room and got banned from a certain message board. Would the IP in my bedroom be banned as well? Note: I have a laptop running on a wireless ethernet card and the living room comp has the "main box" that I get my signal from.

    Incase you were wondering. Im about to unleash all of my anger on one of the moderators(who will remain nameless) over at PBN. Its a long story but IM getting sick of the dude. I plan to go off yelling at him, get banned, then still be able to visit the boards from my room. Is that possible? Or do they use the same IP adress....?

    first: lol, I know you probably dont know, but its still funny.

    Second: one line goes into your house and into your router/switch, therefore you can safely bet your house has one IP. You can plug 100 computers into that router/switch if you want, but as far as the rest of the world is concered you still only have one IP.

    let the immaturity commence!

        Do you have cable or DSL? If you have cable you can just unplug your modem for a while to get a new IP. Also chances are they wont IP ban you, but even if they do, who cares, it's PBN

              your cable retains an IP if you don't get online for say.... a week someimes it releases that IP, then wnet you get on it requests a new one. MOST cable companies are setup this way. They are semi-static. Meaning you have the same IP but they can change it without giving you notice.
              The best thing to do is get a free AOL cd and use dialup for a few hours and flame him left and right. Then reconnect and do it again, and again. Eventually they will ban a group of connections, but in the proccess they will ban other AOL PBN users and will have to eventually reinstate that group. So wait a few weeks and start it all over again

              IP's are so dynamic I can't believe ppl still try to ban ppl from places like AO, PBN n stuff. Half life has it figured out. You get your WON ID banned the ONLY way to get back on a server is to but a new HALFLIFE CD. Course that is starting to wear thin now that HL is 3.50$ a CD

                DONDE??!?!??!

                Also i know with my cable at least unplugging the modem for 2 minutes is enough for it to generally fetch a new IP.

                  You can also do that with DSL. I have Pacific Bell DSL and they use PPPoE and it grabs a new IP address every time you log in.

                    Quick question how would you like it if people from PBN were asking how to do this?

                        HAHAHAHAHA I think this is so funny too. To add my .02 I have seen people get banned from places, and most often they just ban the user name (which is attached to an email) so you just need to setup another email account and then another user name.

                        Most people once banned go and setup almost identical names to piss off the banners by showing they can get around the ban.

                        for example the username Bob gets banned so they create Bob1.5 then that gets banned so they create Bob2, etc...

                          Just pull yer modem out, if that doesnt work get a proxy(probably way too complicated) Or just go to the library and do it(free internet access is good).

                            say your ip is 12.34.56.78, if they ban 12.34.56.** then you might still be banned even if you get a new ip from your isp.

                              i highly doubt they would ban a range, that is a bit extreme. Unless you did something EXTREMELY bad like trying to hack the forum. I doubt they would ban a range, cause that could include other people trying to get on to their forum.
